Sukoon 3

Sukoon 3 is part of a quiet homestead in Satoli, in the Kumaon Himalayas. At 6000 feet, it has a mild temperate climate, pleasant summers and bracing cold winters. The forest is a haven for Himalayan and other migratory birds. It is for those wishing solitude or select company. We welcome, thinkers, philosophers, painters, writers, musicians, or anyone else needing a break from urban existence. A decent wifi allows you the privilege to work from home in these secluded sylvan surrounds. This is the upper suite of the cottage with a 12X12 feet room, with an oak floor. The balcony looks out onto a dense oak forest and the valley below with a view of the distant Central Himalayan snow peaks. You have access to the entire space. Enjoy. Treat with love and respect. The kitchen is fully equipped with a gas stove and stocked with essential cooking utensils & commodities. You also have access to the lovely forest within the property. I'm often travelling. I'm available on phone once you connect. Harish is the local contact and will help with logistics. The Sukoon homestead has 5 fairly private cottages and 8 acres of mostly forested land. Unmatched views of the central Himalayas. Set in a lush oak forest. Flush with pure spring water all through the year. There are young people in the cottages who are working or have chosen to live in the mountains. The room is well lit, ventilated and cosy. Local shops with essential dry food stock / milk / eggs / chicken / vegetables at Naulikan (Aarohi office), some 20-30 minutes walk. Nearest rail head is Kathgodam (90km). You can get a cab from Kathgodam which will take you 2 - 21/2 hours to drive up to Naulikan. Call before coming and I can help with directions and help to get a cab. Can help organise porters /guide for luggage @ Rs 100/- per porter. The porter will also be your guide to reach the house. We expect guests to keep the cottage especially the kitchen and bathroom clean. Do carry fresh vegetables / fruits and groceries. In case you need meals cooked, we will try to arrange a cook, which is separately chargeable. We will link you to the cook directly. Guests are expected to keep their rooms / kitchen / utensils / bathroom clean. The caretaker will come in to help clean once in 3 days, while trash will be cleaned daily. Since there is no cleaning fee charged, a tip for the cleaning lady / man would be a kind gesture. Similarly, if you have used porters to carry your luggage, a tip would be appreciated.
