Two modern shower rooms (one en-suite), open plan living downstairs with kitchen, dining and log burner in the sitting room area, the cottage offers all the amenities you'll need for a superb holiday - for couples, children or an extended family. With a private west-facing patio with its own plunge pool you can enjoy the best of the beautiful Gatine valley at any time of year. The kitchen is equipped with washing machine and dishwasher, oven, microwave and all the usual amenities. If you're missing anything, we're on hand in the main house, so please ask Touring, walking or cycling, the Gatine valley is full of history, beautiful countryside and French life. Sample the wines and enjoy restaurants, from good french cuisine to 15th Century feasting. Enough of that? Then why not experience a multimedia extravaganza at Futuroscope or take in a chariot race at Puy de Fou. Something for everyone You will have sole use of the whole cottage and its patio areas with views across the fields and amazing sunsets. Experience the tranquility of rural France. La Charpenterie is an old French estate, being restored and updated to welcome you to a taste of the French countryside. Situated in rural Deux Sevres, we are ideally situated for world-class attractions of Futuroscope, Puy du Fou and the stuning castles of Saumur and the Loire valley. Each gîte is self-contained with its own outside space, ample parking and views over the grounds and fields beyond. Being rural, the best way to travel is by car, but once here leave the car and explore on foot or cycle. There are plenty of rural lanes, nearby villages and local towns to explore. Fly into Nantes, La Rochelle or Poitiers or take the TGV into Poitiers if you prefer. Several car hire firms operate in the area, check sites like Expedia for an up to date list. We are about 4 hours' drive from the channel coast ports - we tend to use Caen but other options are available. If you're not very familiar with log stoves, let us give you some tips when you arrive. More heaters are available if you need them. The rear opens onto a patio area where you can sip your early morning coffee as you plan your day or spend the evening stargazing over a glass of wine. (Hidden by Airbnb) The night skies are wonderfully dark here and if walking’s your thing, head out of La Charpenterie onto miles of country lanes passing fields of sunflowers. Note that this is a rural setting which is very peaceful but as you'd expect it experiences agricultural activity from time to time.
