The Nest @ Kings Point
The Nest @ Kings Point is on a quiet street surrounded by a beautiful lake, bushland and beaches. There is so much to enjoy in the area. You will have the first floor of the house to yourself, with a separate entrance and your own spacious bedroom, living area, kitchenette and bathroom/laundry (we live on the second floor). Your space consists of three rooms on the first floor of the house. The first spacious room includes a king bed, large lounge, TV, clothes storage, and your private entrance to the house. This connects to another spacious room with a kitchenette (no stove/oven or sink, but most basics) and a dining table for two. The combined bathroom and laundry adjoins. Feel free to enjoy the modest backyard (shared with us and our animals). You have your own BBQ, table and benches. There is also a dartboard on the wall. Please note we do have a beehive near the back fence, but you should have no issues as long as you stay a few metres clear of the hive. Your laundry facilities are shared with us - we will plan not to need it if you are having a short stay. If we do need it we will coordinate usage with you. For reference, we live in the rest of the house which consists of: our entry room & garage on the first floor (separated from your space by locked doors); plus living and dining area, kitchen, main and spare bedroom, home office, balcony and back deck on the second floor. We live on the second floor with our two friendly greyhounds and cat - you may hear them playing upstairs or in the back yard on occasion. You may also see them (or us) lounging on the upstairs balcony which is viewable from the street. Our entrance to the house is next to yours, so feel free to say hello or chat if we run into each other. Your space is private but we will be available if you need anything when we are home. When we are not home you can still contact us through the Airbnb messaging system or on our mobiles. Daniel works from home most weekdays and may be available to meet, greet and help you if you need anything. Kings Point is an idyllic suburb - surrounded by the tranquil Lake Burrill and bushland, 4-minutes drive to a few magnificent kilometres of beach and rockpools, and 5-minutes drive to the centre of Ulladulla town. From the house, you can stroll along the lake's foreshore, go for a swim, use our kayaks, or explore tracks through the bush. There are various beaches in the area. Not all are patrolled by lifeguards, but we are happy to point you in the right direction based on your desires. There are some good snorkelling spots in protected bays, rock pools with fossils, long sandy dunes, river inlets, nature walks (like Chris Humphries), and more. You can find many surprisingly good cafes and restaurants in Ulladulla - we highly recommend Native, Treehouse, Tanoshi, Cupitt's Winery, and The Ruse. There are many more fantastic options in neighbouring towns too. Ulladulla has a few other places worth mentioning: the harbour, lighthouse, Funland, cinema, supermarkets, and occasional weekend markets. If there is a particular flavour, activity or place you are after, don't hesitate to ask us for recommendations. If you want to adventure out further, there are some fantastic bushwalks in the nearby National Parks - including Pigeon House Mountain which is visible in the distance from the house. There is some public transport in the area, but we recommend driving your own car. There is a nice grassy spot in front of the house where you can park. There are also taxis and Uber in the area if you need, or travelling by bicycle is relatively easy. You can walk around Kings Point with ease, but it is several kilometres to Ulladulla. Upon booking confirmation we will provide you with a (Hidden by Airbnb) Maps link with all the places we've mentioned here plus many more recommendations. Let us know if you'd like the link beforehand. If conditions are right, there are a few special experiences we can provide: * Guided inspection of our backyard beehive - we can open up the hive and explain a million interesting facts about bees. * Honey harvesting and taste-testing - we can crack the honey frames in our hive and pour out different flavours of honey for you to taste and collect. * Stargazing with a large telescope - we have a 12" Dobsonian telescope which is great for viewing deep-space objects like globular clusters, nebulae, galaxies, as well as our neighbouring planets and moons. If you are interested in these activities, please let us know. Unfortunately, it is hard to predict if conditions will be favourable and as such we cannot guarantee that we will conduct the activities - we will try and set expectations in advance. Please also note that your entryway door is fitted with a special security lock. Keys for this lock cannot be legally copied. If you lose a key, we have to replace the entire lock and key set which will cost you $150. On the plus side, you and your belongings will be safer.
