Kidaman Cottage Farm stay

Kidaman Cottage is situated in a private tranquil corner of our 125 acre farm in the beautiful Obi Obi Valley. Kidaman Cottage offers you the unique opportunity of an authentic farm stay. Collect your own delicious free range eggs and feed our friendly miniature goats and our horses with food provided by us. From misty mornings to stunning sunsets over the valley Kidaman Cottage is the perfect place to kick back, relax, recharge and enjoy the country air. The cottage is comfortably furnished with everything you will need for your stay. The cottage is two bedroom one bathroom. The main bedroom has a comfy queen size bed, the second bedroom has two single beds. This makes for the perfect getaway for either a romantic weekend in the country or an escape with the whole family. All beds are made with quality linens and soft fluffy Sheridan towels are also provided. There is a large flat screen TV with all the free to air channels available. We also supply a large selection of blue ray and DVD movies. There is a small book selection and a variety of board games provided for family fun. The kitchen is fully equiped with everything you will need for your stay. Its our pleasure to provide you with breakfast consisting of our very own fresh free range eggs (which you can either collect yourself or we can collect for you) from our happy chooks, bacon, crusty home baked sour dough, a selection of jams, Muesli, Milk from our local Maleny dairy, and Orange Juice. We also provide a wide selection of teas and quality coffee. Breakfast or in fact any meal of the day can be enjoyed on the spacious deck with views over looking the valley and our animal paddocks. The wood fire place (stacked for you with wood provided) will keep you warm and cosy on our chilly winter nights. Please note the fire place will only be available for use through the cooler months starting 1st of June until 1st of October. If you would like to use the fireplace out side of these times you can purchase a bag of fire wood from us for $15. There is no wifi at the cottage however we hope that this gives you the opportunity to unplug and take a break from the connected world, take in the stunning views and enjoy our friendly farm animals. There is full phone reception with Optus and Vodafone, Telstra can be a little bit unreliable. Our Miniature Goat paddock is open between 7am and 5pm for you to feed our friendly goats; Jack, Jill and Juno. We provide you with a goat Muslie. We also have a very friendly poddy Calf called Chopper living with our Miniature Goats. Chopper loves attention and you can also hand feed him the Muslie provided. We leave apples and carrots for you to feed our horses; Olive, Peyote and Shilo, we kindly ask that for your safety you feed the horses over the fence but do not enter the horse paddock. You have free access to the chicken pen to collect your own eggs but if you would like assistance please let us know. Our chickens are very friendly and don't mind a cuddle and a scratch on the bum. The cottage is located down 5km of well maintained dirt road coming from Maleny direction and 1km of dirt road coming from Obi Obi Road. A four wheel drive is not necessary however we do advise taking it slow if you are in a 2 wheel drive as the road is winding. As the rest of our farm is a working Cattle farm, for guest safety the cattle paddocks and the rest of the property are not accessible to guests. The cottage yard front and back. You have access to our goat paddock to feed our friendly goats between 7am and 5pm and also our chook pen to collect your own delicious free range eggs. The rest of our farm is private and not accessible to guests. The cottage is very private. We do clean the barn early morning and feed and put the animals to bed late afternoon. We are always happy to have a chat and answer any questions you have but also respect your privacy if you prefer to be left alone. We also appreciate our privacy however our main House is only a short distance away (Not visable or in ear shot) should you require anything or have any questions. We are also available by phone. Even though you will feel miles away from the hustle and bustle during your stay the cottage is located a short distance of 20 minutes from the beautiful towns of Kenilworth, Maleny, Mapleton and Montville. In all these quaint towns you will find delicious coffee, award winning bakeries, 5 star restaurants, art galleries and lots of beautiful stores selling hand crafted wares. Please let us know if you would like any recommendations. The Obi Obi and surrounding areas are very popular for hiking, mountain biking and bushwalking. The Obi Obi creek is only a 6 minute drive away and is popular for picnics, swimming and kayaking. Mapleton falls and Kondalilla falls both offer stunning views and beautiful walks for all abilities. The beautiful beaches of the sunshine coast are also only 50 minutes away.
