Pavilion in Paradise

Fully self-contained small one bedroom apartment at the rear of our home nicknamed The Pavilion. Perfect for 2 guests, and possible (but cosy!) for 3 guests (reviewed on a case by case basis) Think a compact space with cool whites, colour splashes and various decos we have collected over our years of travel. Everything has been designed to make you feel at home (yet on a holiday!!) Pack nothing and expect everything! We have tried to anticipate all the little things you may need (Sukin amenities, beach towels, robes, umbrella, salt and pepper, mosquito repellant etc etc). Bedding features crisp linens (very important!) and summer/winter layers we can change depending on your preference. If there is a facility that we have not listed, please let us know and we can can certainly consider it for you. You will have the entire space to yourself which includes a sundeck and BBQ. There is also separate access to the street so you can come and go as you please. The only shared facilities are the clothesline and drier in our home should you wish to use them, but there is an additional small washing line at the side for your use only. Whilst the Pavilion itself is yours, the kitchen/dining and deck areas overlook our backyard and into the family room and kitchen of our home and outdoor area. You will be able to view our home from the sundeck and can see if we are around should you need us at all - we are in and out throughout the day and always contactable by phone if required. If you would like a coffee or chat please let us know and we can certainly oblige! or we will happily leave you with enough information to explore the area on your own. It really is paradise! at the end of our road there is the beautiful Paradise Point Parklands with all the usual facilities (BBQ, playground, tables and chairs) plus a beach with swimming enclosure and a fantastic local village that has a relaxed ambience and just about every facility you will need - restaurants, cafes, and small bars, post office, doctors, chemist, butcher, baker (no candlestick maker!), florist, retail therapy and local mini-mart for any essential supplies you may have forgotten. There is also lovely walking tracks at the Coombabah Lakelands only a 10 minute drive away - a great place for spotting kangaroos, wallabies, koalas and kookaburras just to name a few! Street parking is available right at our front door. We are a 15 minute drive from Movie World and Dreamworld and Seaworld/Surfers Paradise is a beautiful 20 min drive along the coastline. Runaway Bay Shopping centre and Harbourtown Shopping Centre (for great outlet shopping and cinemas) are both 7 minutes drive away. There is a bus-stop servicing the general Gold Coast area at the end of the road (less than 1 min walk). This service runs every 15 minutes, and can connect you to the G-link tram in only 25 minutes - from here you can go from Burleigh to Helensvale, and at Helensvale there are connections to take you straight into the heart of Brisbane city. We can also offers transfers in our own vehicles subject to availability and can quote for this on request. We enjoy spending time with friends and will often do this on the weekends on our back deck which is directly opposite the Pavilion accommodation. Never usually late or loud, there may be this presence there at times during your stay. Please note there is a single portable induction hotplate in the kitchenette for limited stovetop cooking - there is also a fridge, microwave, toaster, George Foreman grill, coffee machine and kettle. Outside, we also have a small Weber BBQ for your sole use. There is one smallish bedroom with a queen bed - the other sleeping arrangements for up to 1 more guest (on request) is on a very large and comfortable sofa (not sofa bed) that converts to an almost double bed sleeping area - that can comfortably accommodate 1 adult/child. The Pavilion is not set-up for children, although we do host smaller guests from time to time but ask that guests advise us of their child's age at the time of booking/request as there are a number of features that are not child friendly that we like to advise parents of, and in some cases we may not be suitable for families with small children. We are happy to discuss with guests to ensure that we are the right and safest fit for all of our guests stays. Free-to-air television is available in both the bedroom and living room, with Netflix available in the living room only. We have 1 small schnauzer and one cat that call us their people! They are usually in our home, however do use the shared yard for napping and playing. For guests that like animals they love attention! but are also happy to be ignored and do their own thing for those guests that prefer their animals at a distance. Please note that for bookings from September 2021 we do have a home that is being constructed next to our block so there may be some associated construction noise. To date it has not been alot and the progress of the build is slow so some days there is no activity at all but please feel free to ask about the likelihood of any disruption to your stay when making your booking.
