Lower Fal Cottage forms part of a stunning grade II listed former warehouse which is now a luxurious retreat. Located at the head of the Penryn River and enjoying views across the water, this stunning property is perfectly positioned to enjoy the local facilities in Penryn, the beautiful beaches of Falmouth and, of course, the exceptional sailing waters of the Fal Estuary. The local area has a relaxed vibe with cafes and pubs on the water's edge and a good range of local facilities. The cottage is beautifully furnished, arranged over three storeys with 16' ceilings and exposed stonework. With underfloor heating throughout this is the perfect holiday home for any time of year. Step into the comfortable dining room which also offers a relaxed seating area with honesty bar. A social area to enjoy while someone is cooking in the well equiped kitchen with granite worktops, plenty of storage and modern appliances. There is a Alexa voice activated Sonos sound system for music which also controls the two speakers on the next open plan storey. There is also a bathroom on the ground level with bath and shower. Upstairs you will find a stylish sitting room which overlooks the river and countryside beyond. There a large comfy sofa and arm chairs are available for guests to watch the 48' television or just relax and unwind. Here there are two further Sonos speakers on this level to enjoy music. The master bedroom with kingsize bed has an en-suite shower room with a large shower. There is a fitted wardrobe, bedside tables with drawers and plenty of storage under the bed. On the mezzanine floor is the second bedroom with a superking bed (suitable for over 8's only). There is also under bed storage, a chest of draws and hanging space in this vaulted unique bedroom. Benefiting from reserved parking with an additional visitor space (no return within 24 hours), the exterior of this harbourside property retains the original charm of the old warehouse fused with a high-quality contemporary interior. The cottage is a perfect choice for guests who want more than the average accommodation provides, it mixes Cornish charm with a unique layout giving space and light. The terraces area with trees in front of the cottage next to the waterfront is available for guests to use. There is a oak table and 4 oak chairs in the under stairs cupboard, these need to be brought in after use. Although we are not available in person we have a lovely local lady who looks after the cottage and her number is in the visitors book should there be any problems. There are lots of places to drink, eat and shop a short walk away in Penryn. Many of the closest shops are independent, sell local produce and locally made products. It is a quick drive into Falmouth with lots of car parking available or alternatively a 10 minute walk takes you to a water taxi into the centre of Falmouth. Another alternative is leisurely 30 minute walk along the waterfront into Falmouth with plenty of refreshment stops on the way. This vibrant town has an eclectic mix of shops, independent boutiques, restaurants, cafes and pubs. There are two sandy beaches in the town; Gyllyngvase and Swanpool, both of which have a great beach cafes overlooking the sands. The National Maritime Museum Cornwall and Pendennis Castle are also located in Falmouth. There are plenty of Nautical events including the Falmouth Week, The International Sea Shanty Festival, The Fish Festival and the Oyster Festival. Falmouth has a number of excellent Golf courses nearby plus a pitch and putt course. The capital city of Cornwall Truro is less than half an hours drive (or boat ride) and is famous for its Cathedral and award-winning Hall for Cornwall. Once here, a car isn't always necessary. There is a bus stop directly in front of the cottage which can take you into Falmouth or out to Truro or Redruth. The Prince of Wales Pier in Falmouth has passenger ferries to Flushing, St Mawes & up the Fal to Truro is also a short walk. If you are using a car the following attractions have parking. Beaches 0.5 miles. Helford River 5 miles. Trebah & Glendurgan Gardens 6 miles. Lost Gardens of Heligan 25 miles. St Michael's Mount 25 miles. St Ives 28 miles. Eden Project 30 miles.
