This beautiful Lodge was built at the gates of Mettingham Castle and has the converted Victorian stable block joined to make it a fabulous house for a large family, or families. NO FIREWORKS PLEASE Quiet and relaxing Get away from it all and let us do the worrying for you. The house is large with ample space inside and out for family get-togethers. There is an outside games room. Dogs allowed but not upstairs, the garden is safe for pets and children. House with amazing space and great views of the castle set in parkland. It is quiet and relaxing with country lanes and tracks to walk or cycle down. There are two bath/shower rooms and two shower rooms, one upstairs and one downstairs. Two separate loos with basins one upstairs and one downstairs. Outside there is another loo and basin by the games room. We are most suitable for family get-togethers and friends re-uniting after lockdown. We are not really happy with stag parties or hen dos. A few recent reviews Feb 2022 We were three generations of an extended family - 7 adults and 5 children, including 3 under-2s - staying for a long weekend in February. The house is beautiful, comfortable and very cosy despite being enormous! All the bedrooms are lovely and there are plenty of bathrooms to go round. Kitchen is really well equipped with lots of crockery and cooking equipment. The garden is gorgeous and very secure, and the castle views top it all off! Harriet is a great host, super helpful with questions and clear instructions for everything. We would love to come back here again in future. “We were an assorted bunch. 3 over 80, 2 over 50, 3 over 20, 2 over 40. We all had wonderfully comfortable beds and those didn’t want to share didn’t have to. Us oldies had next door bathrooms, there were 5 bathrooms for 8/bedrooms and and 2 extra Loos. 3 TVs and sitting rooms, some like tennis, some like Coro and some like a good film. A wonderful house with enough space , we were a mixture of 3 families and never a cross word. The house has a good relaxing atmosphere and everything works. Bungay has excellent shops, deli, butcher veg and great shops for Christmas presents.” “Lovely house with 9 well appointed bedrooms. Visit the Castle there or the Sainsbury Centre. Trains from London (1hr40 mins) to Diss Local train stations are Beccles and Halesworth, change at Ipswich. Busses go from 1/2 a mile away to Norwich, Southwold, Great Yarmouth, Diss Planes from and to :- City Airport 2.5hrs Southend Airport 1.5hrs Stanstead Airport 1.5hrs Luton Airport 2.5hrs Norwich Airport 0.45hrs 25 min walk into Bungay town, you can find everything here in small shops. Great coffee shops too. Large garden space. We have two downstairs bedrooms with king size beds in both. We have super fast WiFi making it the perfect place to work from when away from home. There are enough places to work quietly and three tv areas for different programmes to keep everyone happy.
