Idyllic Farmhouse in Stunning Deeside Location
Blackness Farmhouse is a traditional cottage still retaining many of its original features. Bathrooms and kitchen have been modernized, open fires replaced for wood burners and carpeting added to make your stay as comfortable as possible. The cottage was our home while we converted the nearby barns into our new house. and although storage was tight for a busy family of 6, we loved our time living there and always felt it would make a perfect holiday home. We hope you enjoy your stay. Guests will enjoy full use of the detached farmhouse and its garden for the duration of their stay. You will have total privacy for your stay at Blackness but we live on site so are available if any problems arise. Blackness is surrounded by beautiful countryside, farmland and forests. The area is well known to local cyclists who make good use of the peaceful pretty lanes . The short drive to Banchory, with all its amenities, takes you over the quaint Bridge of Feugh where visitors gather to watch salmon jump the Falls of Feugh and past Scolty Hill, a local landmark where visitors and locals enjoy walking, cycling and experiencing amazing views over Banchory and the surrounding countryside. Crathes Castle and all its attractions is a ten minute drive from the farm and we are also close to Knockburn Loch with all its watersports. Aberdeen is 20 miles east along the South Deeside Road while a trip west takes you to Ballater, Braemar and into the Cairngorm National Park. Aberdeenshire boasts many attractions with its castles, distilleries and stunning coastal and inland scenery. It is a wonderful area for all types of outdoor pursuits, from relaxing fly fishing on its famous rivers and gentle walks, to fantastic road and mountain biking, hill walking, mountain climbing and skiing. A car is advisable for you to fully enjoy all the area has to offer. The nearest bus service is from Banchory. Please note that the postcode for the property covers a wide area.
