Back to nature lakeside cabin for 1-4 :-)
Lakeside cabin with space for 1-4 people. This recently restored boathouse will give you a real switch off from the modern world feel, no tv or wifi to complicate things, just birdsong and views across the lake. Sleep up in the bedroom or on the extremely comfortable sofabed if climbing the stairs is not for you. Relax on the terrace, take a siesta in the hammock. Within 1hr of the Dordogne, numerous chateaux at 20 mins as well as some lovely local villages. Come and unwind. The 'cabane du lac' is a small but perfectly formed self contained house. It has a separate kitchen area with oven, induction hob, fridge and kettle. Plenty of cupboard space to store your supplies whether you come for a weekend, a week or a month and all the necessary pots and pans, crockery and cutlery, glasses, mugs etc. The living area has a dining table, sofa, easy chair and a wood burner for the cooler months. Double doors lead out onto the balcony and round to the terrace area with gas bbq. The bedroom area upstairs is really comfortable and very romantic but a bit of a challenge to get to, so if you are at all concerned about that have no fear as the sofa downstairs converts into a very comfortable double sofa bed. The cabin has a stylish shower room with heated towel rail. We live at the other end of the lake and will welcome you to the cabin when you arrive. We will leave you to get on with your stay but are only a couple of minutes away should you need any advice or help with anything. The cabin is down a small country lane just out of the village of Glandon and only a few minutes away from the town of St Yrieix la Perche. It is in a very quiet area surrounded by nature, you won't be disturbed. We are in the Limousin area of France, known for its' porcelain, enamel, beef cattle, apples and a local variety of pig called the 'cul noir'. There are plenty of things to see and do here if you want to use the cabin as a base to explore the local area. Otherwise the cabin makes a great space to unwind and relax in and basically do nothing (apart from if you like birdwatching, then you'll see plenty of action from the balcony including at certain times of the year Kingfisher, Egret and Osprey). You will need a car if you want to explore but if you want to come and stay put, then we can arrange to pick you up from the local train station no problem. There are so many back lanes to explore here that you might enjoy bringing your bicycle. Please get in touch for any booking queries, we respond quickly to messages.
