The George at Yering - Yarra Valley

The George at Yering is a luxurious self contained farmhouse located on the grounds of Yering Farm Wines in the heart of the Yarra Valley. Set in the midst of 120 acres of orchard and vineyard, the homestead sleeps up to 14 people. 2 night minimum booking is required. As you enter through the large doors of The George, you come into the cool entrance hall, with slate floors, soaring ceiling and reclaimed stained glass windows rescued from the old family home. The free flowing living, dining and gorgeous timber country kitchen area makes for the perfect setting for large groups. Exposed timber beams, soaring vaulted ceilings and large open fire add to the warmth of its character. With stunning stained glass windows rescued from grandmas original home, and timber flooring restored from the family's orchard coolstore. Take some time out to read a book on the window seat overlooking the garden in the library room, dine in the formal dining room with feature fireplace, or watch a movie in the TV room. Plenty of space for all to enjoy. There are six separate bedrooms on ground level completed with the utmost luxury. One bedroom has an ensuite bathroom, while the others share a main bathroom with additional toilet. Upstairs, the recycled oregon staircase takes you to the master suite, with mezzanine reading area, a king sized sleigh bed, en-suite bathroom with spa bath and sweeping views of the valley. Outdoors you'll find a terrace area with gas BBQ and seating, as well as a solar heated pool and spa, which overlooks 70 acres of apple and pear orchards. You will have access to the entire house and surrounding grounds. Plenty of parking available and within walking distance to the Yering Farm Wines cellar door. It's only a short stroll from The George at Yering down to the Yering Farm Wines cellar door, where you can taste the handcrafted, limited release wines made right on site, while gazing out over the vineyard and mountains beyond. The George at Yering is the perfect spot to explore the Yarra Valley from, with multiple wineries, restaurants and townships only a few minutes drive away. The easiest way to get around the Yarra Valley is by car, though there are many wine tours you can join that will pick you up from the house. We can suggest some companies for you if you desire. There are also a number of transfer companies we can recommend if you need transport. Prior to arrival, please contact us to inform us of your estimated arrival time.
