Our former Captains House was built for Captain Ishmael Williams in 1874; He was the master of a locally made 3 masted schooner called “The Gaelic”, which regularly sailed from Amlwch Port. Today the house has been lovingly restored, but still retains a lot of original features, including roof timbers reclaimed from old ships, and original rough-cast plaster walls. Book direct (see photos) and save money. Located on the coast of the beautiful of Isle of Anglesey in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB), Bod Hyfryd (“Beautiful dwelling”) is a house with a fascinating history….a former Captains House, it was built for Captain Ishmael Williams in 1874; He was the master of a locally made 3 masted schooner called “The Gaelic”, which regularly sailed from Amlwch Port to South America and beyond. You will find a warm welcome from your hosts Julie and Pete, and the promise of total relaxation and peace and quiet, due to our rural location. Our room We offer one room with exclusive use of our luxury guest shower room. Breakfast is available at £9.95 per person to be prebooked prior to your stay.
