In the heart of magical historic Maiera, Calabria you will find this lovely two bedroom apartment with outstanding views of the Pollino National Park as well as views of the sea from the front of the apartment. If you want a real Italian experience, this is for you! The Pollino National Park is a hikers paradise where you can walk in wild and dramatic landscapes and enjoy beautiful unique wildlife, or a short drive to the idyllic crystal clear water of the Tyrrhenian Sea The apartment comprises of a four poster bed in the master bedroom which overlooks the breathtaking gorge and has views of the ancient village of Grisolia as well as a twin room with the same views. The living area comprises of modern furnishings as well as a feature corner fireplace. From the front porch you can enjoy views of the sea where you can savour a glass of wine and watch village life as the sun sets. The apartment is light and airy and the perfect retreat for those looking for a magical escape. Guests will have access to a gas stove kitchen equipment. Sheets and towels are included as are plates and glassware. Modern bathroom with power shower, wc, bidet and sink. TV with built in DVD player (no TV channels, just Dvd) and selection of DVDs and books. We have many local contacts who are more than willing to help with any issues. They are some of the friendliest and warmest people you will meet! Maiera, (famous for its artistic murals and sculptures dotted throughout the village) has a bar, pizzeria, shop, butchers, bakers, pharmacy, medical centre and post office. There is a local chilli museum (Calabria is famous for its chilli's) and an annual Chilli festival in September. The area has wonderful beaches and walks through the national park where you can see wild boar! There is a bus which leaves from the bottom of the village to local towns. The village is easily accessible by car. As with most typical Italian hilltop villages, it is very steep with many steps. The apartment is in the historic centre of the village so cars will need to be parked on the road. From the road to the apartment is a short walk but the steps are steep. The views however are worth it!
