In an enchanting landscape over the hanging Larboust valley and Luchon's peaks, this former sheepfold is now a beautiful family home. It will delight mountain lovers in all seasons. Facing south with two beautiful terraces and a garden, we are 3 km from the Peyragudes slopes accessible by car, 3 km from the Peyresourde pass road, 10 km from Bagnères-de-Luchon and above the valley d'Oô where you can walk down to reach its famous lake. For your comfort, the household linen is provided. We welcome you to our family house, an old sheepfold renovated with character surrounded by a 700 m2 garden with trees. We enjoy sharing this house as long as our guests take care of it as much as if it belonged to them. The exteriors: You will enjoy a large terrace facing south where you can have lunch in the sun, and a smaller one on the 1st, ideal for sunbathing while the children take a nap nearby. You can park within the property which can accommodate 3-4 cars. Please note: we do not always anticipate snowfall! Snow shovels are available to clear access. The interior: Do not forget your slippers, it is much more pleasant to move around the house and limit the sweeping chore during your stay! The fireplace: you will take full advantage of the insert fireplace. Wood is at your disposal. The library: there you will find books (mainly in French) that you can enjoy during your stay. If you wish to keep a book that you have not finished, it is possible, as long as it is not marked "Bergerie des Agudes" on the first page. You just have to exchange it for the one you finished. - Old wooden sleds: they decorate, but are also functional. Please note: it is more dangerous than a plastic sledge! Linen & bedding: each bed has a duvet and two pillows per person. Blankets are also available in the Fern Bedroom. All bedding and two towels per person are provided. The kitchen: you will find at your disposal basic products (tea, coffee, sugar, pasta, salt, pepper ...). If you consume them, we ask you to replace them so that those who come after you do not miss anything. Bread: you can make your own bread, but also fresh cheese and yogurts. All instructions are provided. To keep this accommodation spotless, we ask that you leave the house clean when you leave. Skiing at a reduced price: we give you a reduction on the weekly packages on Peyragudes as well as on the rental of the equipment. You will have access to the whole house, garden, terraces, outdoor parking. Karine will welcome you on site and will also be present for your departure. We are at your entire disposal by phone. One of the highest villages in France, Gouaux de Larboust is a traditional mountain village with its beautiful Romanesque church, its houses and its typical barns. Very quiet, the last store closed recently. Some beautiful walks from the house: - The tour of the village through the Village d'en Bas. going back up to our magnificent 13th century church. - Trail 73 which starts at the bottom of the house, passes over the Oô valley and descends to the Granges d'Espoujau, then from Astau, starting point towards Lake Oô. - Go up to the Agudes station by the trail 76, then return by the other slope while following the racket track. - The walk to the Moraine de Garin, passing over Oo. - Our canteen, 6 km away: the restaurant La Ferme d'Espiau. A typical place with simple and delicious menus and a good welcome. Please note: reservations are essential, even in low season. - You will find a small grocery store in Agudes, but it is better to plan to shop in Bagnères de Luchon (covered market, shops, open air market & supermarkets) To get around, the car is essential, or at least the bicycle for cycling enthusiasts. There is no public transportation. SURROUNDINGS: - 3 km: The Peyragudes ski resort, with its 60 km of slopes, its exceptional sunshine, and its snow cover thanks to an extraordinary technology to maintain snow. In summer, take advantage of the municipal swimming pool and its view over the valley. - The Oô valley and the Espingo circus - The villages of Larboust and their magnificent Romanesque churches going down to Bagnères de Luchon (Saint Aventin, La Chapelle de la Moraine de Garin ...), or from the house with binoculars! - The Espiau mountain, its megaliths and its cromlechs. - The valley of Oueil - Bagnères de Luchon: 15 minutes by car (take your swimsuit!). The covered market is a must. The bookseller on the alleys of Etigny is worth the detour, and continuing the walk to the thermal baths, go to the vaporarium: a natural hamam directly in the mountains! - The lake of Génos, Loudenvielle and the Balnea center are 20 minutes away. - Arreau: a superb medieval village where to stroll in summer at the crossroads of two rivers, 30 minutes from the house. - Saint Lary-Soulan: another flagship ski resort in the Pyrenees 45 minutes away. - Baqueira-Beret (Spain): the famous King of Spain station, an hour away! ... And many other places, rich in history or sports! ACTIVITIES: Winter: - Skiing, ski touring, snowshoeing, sledding, dog sledding, ice waterfalls, balneotherapy & thermal baths.
