Chapel Cottage

Located on the high street this characterful Purbeck stone cottage was originally built as the Baptist Chapel. It has a wealth of charm with many quirky features. It is situated on the Isle of Purbeck, which is an excellent location for outdoor activities and discovering the delights of the world heritage Jurassic Coast. Positioned close the Priests Way path you can explore a number of great coastal walks. Or you could just pop across to the fantastic local pub for a pint and bite to eat. Chapel cottage is a charming house with a wealth of character. We don’t have an outside space to sit but the cottage is beautifully cool in the summer and cosy in the winter. We are located a stones throw from the pub and shop and we have Wifi, a TV, Blu-ray player and selection of films. There is also an enclosed secure back yard to wash muddy boots or store bicycles in. * As we are on the high street, traffic does pass the front of the cottage, however the front windows are all double glazed. The outside space is a hard standing area suitable for storage and cleaning of outside pursuit kit. It’s totally enclosed and secure and we have a line and hosepipe available. The pictures show a bed on the mezzanine floor. It can be used at your discretion (we would not recommend this for young children). This is in addition to the main bedroom and the fold out futon in the living room. Langton Matravers is a small village 1 mile away from Swanage. There is a bus stop within 50m of the Cottage. The village has a pub, which has a great selection of beers and ales and serves good pub food. The Pub also hosts a Deli and small general store which sells fresh bread/eggs etc. and provisions. Putlake farm serves breakfast during the holiday season. You can often park in front of the cottage but there is on street parking in the high street. There are loads of local taxis and the bus stop is just up the road. The bus route takes you into Swanage and across to Poole on the Sandbanks ferry.
