The Stables, Loft Retreat in the Fowey Countryside

The Stables at Polglaze is a August 2020 refurbished loft style single floor cottage for up to 4 people. A small quaint property, providing a cosy retreat set within the grounds of Polglaze Farm (farm by name only), with a garden, patio and decking. There is ample free parking across the garden. It is set in ANOB countryside, approx. 1 mile outside the picturesque harbour town of Fowey, and is within easy reach of The Eden Project, many pretty Cornish towns, and the North and South Coasts. A beautifully and simply presented open plan loft style cottage with a warm feel. The accommodation is all on one floor, comprising an open plan lounge/dining/kitchen, with new appliances; two bedrooms, each comprising: 2 single beds (which can alternatively be made into a king size bed, allowing flexibility of accommodation); a small wardrobe, a small 5 draw cupboard, bedside cupboard and mirror; a brand new shower room; and entrance lobby, for coats and shoes, with a stable door. Outside, on the new decking area, there is a sofa, two chairs, two stools and a coffee table. On the patio, there is a BBQ, umbrella and dining table and chairs. The garden is now fenced with a gate (2021) for privacy, and parking is across the garden by the main house, which is set down a driveway. All outside space and garden - there is plenty - is at the front of the property. The back of the property overlooks converted barns and tree line. The Stables is a top floor conversion of an old stable, with the lower part presently being used for storage. Polglaze offers a unique "get away from it all" experience. Due to refurbishment completion during Covid-19, we have decorated the property minimally to maximize safety for all. We thoroughly clean the property and are presently not doing back-to-back same day changeovers. PLEASE NOTE: DUE TO NEW GOVERNMENT GUIDANCE WE ARE NOW PROVIDING (AS OF 16/08/21) ALL BEDDING AND TOWELS FOR USE IN THE STABLES. (YOU WILL STILL NEED TO BRING TOWELS FOR THE BEACH AND OUTDOORS, AND ALL YOUR PERSONAL PROVISIONS, THANK YOU.) We are following social distancing guidelines, but we are available at the farmhouse (just across the garden) should you require us. We will also leave a telephone number and email contact for you in the cottage, as well as a house manual. The Stables at Polglaze is set in AONB countryside on the south coast of Cornwall and just a few minutes drive from the sea and small beaches which are also walking distance. The harbour town of Fowey offers shops, cafes, pubs, restaurants and boat and kayak hire and trips. The town has 2 ferries to take you to the other side of the river either on foot or by car. There are plenty of footpaths in the area along the coast and inland. The small village of Golant is just up the river with a pub, cafe and kayak and canoe hire and trips. There are many coastal towns on south and north coasts within travelling distance. The Eden Project is only 15 minutes drive and the Lost Gardens of Heligan, Lanydrock, the Camel Trail and many other attractions are an easy distance from us. The city of Truro is approx 20 miles away with Lands End, Penzance and St.Ives just a little further on. But Polglaze offers total relaxation for those who simply want to chill in the Cornish countryside. Par train station is 2.5 miles away. There is a local bus service and there are taxes operating in the area. A car is the easiest way to travel in the area. There are footpaths in the area for walkers. Newquay airport is 22 miles away. At the moment and due to Covid-19 pandemic we have populated the property minimally. There is a TV and wi-fi, but presently there are no games, books or decorative items - these will come in time! So, if you need any of these items please bring them with you. As a reminder, you will also need to bring beach towels and personal provisions, we are now (from 16/08/21) providing bedding, linens and towels for use in the property. Thank you.
