The choice and variety of places to visit in the area and further afield on day trips is vast and is of course entirely yours to make. Our period home is located in a quiet neighbourhood at the base of Killiney Hill. This is in the historic area of Killiney with it's many period houses. It is near to the splendid Killiney Bay with its beach that will suit hardy swimmers, but for the less intrepid it is still a wonderful place to go for a seaside stroll. For more details see; (Website hidden by Airbnb) The historic Heritage Town of Dalkey is nearby. With it's numerous restaurants and bars and added to it's literary past it is a place well worth a visit-from our home as it is just a short one stop hop away on the DART. For the more strenuous guests a lengthy walk to Dalkey could take in Killiney Hill and it's obelisk together with the spectacular 360deg panoramic views that this location provides -this includes views of: Killiney Bay from Dalkey to Bray Head( that has been rightly likened to Sorrento Bay in Italy), to Bray Head and the Sugarloaf Mountains in County Wicklow and to Dublin Bay and Dublin City. The Dublin & Wicklow Mountains, including Glendalough, are readily accessible by car, or again for the more strenuous guests these may be accessed by bicycle-we ourselves are keen cyclists and hikers and can advise on many routes of varying degrees of difficulty. Cyclists and their bicycles are most welcome to our home.. The new Bray Celtic Camino Coastal Route that goes from Bray to Dublin(30.5km)passes nearby(5 min walk away) on the Killiney Beach section. Killiney Station is a 10-15 minute walk away and provides the regular DART rail link to Dalkey-1 stop), Dun Laoghaire-4 stops, Dublin City and Howth to the North or South to Bray-2 stops and Greystones-3stops. Train times off peak to City Centre are 35/37mins to Pearse Station/ Tara Street Station respectively. Brides Glen Stop is an 8 minute drive away and provides the regular LUAS tram link to Dundrum Shopping Centre and the City Centre (St Stephen's Green) The N11 Bus (no. 145) route to Dublin City is just a 15 to 20 minute walk away, whilst the stop for the No.45A bus route to Dun Laoghaire etc is less than a 5min walk away. The Airport coach link to and from Dublin Airport is available nearby via 2 routes, either at the terminus at Fitzpatrick's Killiney Castle Hotel(Route703) or on the Greystones Route 702, at Shankill Village (Mickey Byrne's Pub) A fixed price taxi service is available to and from the Airport, which can be pre-booked -flight details and the Guest's mobile phone number are required by the Taxi Company. Killiney beach is a 7min walk from our home and can be taken in en route to Killiney Dart Station.
