The Grockles Hide

Built in 1879, The Grockles Hide is a delightful terraced Victorian cottage situated on the outskirts of the popular Devon coastal town of Seaton. Just a few minutes walk from the award winning Seaton Wetlands nature reserve, the cottage’s pretty external appearance is complimented by a well presented, recently modernised interior with the accommodation particularly suited to couples or a small family. Enjoying stunning views across the Axe Valley to Axmouth and the Axe Estuary, the property also offers off road parking for one car and a small enclosed patio garden located to the rear. The town centre is just under a mile away and here you can spend time relaxing on Seaton’s mile long shingle beach or sampling the town’s unique range of shops, tea rooms, pubs and restaurants. For the keen walker, an 8 mile hike Eastwards will take you through the Undercliff nature reserve to Lyme Regis whilst in the other direction you will find the neighbouring village of Beer, home to the Quarry Caves and Pecorama tourist attractions. Seaton’s famous electric tramway is certainly worth a visit taking you on a scenic 3 mile journey up the Valley and through the Seaton wetlands nature reserve to the historic town of Colyton. Please note: A maximum of two dogs are accepted. Dogs are charged at £20 each per week (or part week). There are no wardrobes in this property due to a lack of space, though hangers are provided if needed.
