This is a family home and we live in the adjoining house. You have your own separate entrance. We are available to help with any queries you may have during your stay, but equally happy if you wish your own privacy. We do have young children and make every effort to keep noise levels to a minimum during guests stays but there can be some noise at key points such as getting out of the door to school. Our kids are very considerate but they are still kids! So please do bear this in mind when booking. Our house is called Castleview Lodge for good reason! Buchanan Castle sits majestically opposite our home and is a historic landmark that has been named one of Scotland’s must visit treasures. The popular village of Drymen, first stop on the West Highland Way, is a 10 minute walk through a delightful path with amenities such as swimming pool, gym, sauna, squash courts and the oldest pub in Scotland, the Clachan (1751). Our home lies beside the Buchanan 18 hole golf course (golf clubs available to borrow) with the challenging 9 hole Strathendrick 1 mile away. There are riding stables on the estate and the river Endrick runs through the estate and is famous for trout fishing. We regularly have deer & red squirrels in the gardens with the forests lending themselves to an abundance of flora and fauna. Balmaha is another local beauty spot with the popular Conic Hill a short distance from our property. Drymen has good public transport amenities and has a regular service to Glasgow. Details for the local taxi service are available. This is a peaceful and tranquil area. We aim to provide a little haven for our guests during their stay and would ask that guests are also mindful of the need for noise levels that are not excessive as the property is adjoining our family home. Strictly a non smoking residence (indoors and outdoors). No pets. Hypoallergenic bedding provided. Luxury toiletries provided.
