Stonehouse Cottage
Stonehouse Cottage is decorated to a high standard with a lovely mixture of traditional and contemporary touches. It is a warm, relaxing, private space with your own front door. It is an ideal starting point for exploring the beautiful, unspoilt, Ribble Valley, the Ribble Way and the Roman history of Ribchester. Stonehouse Cottage is well-equipped for self-catering. There is an HD TV and free wifi. There is central heating and an additional fire for instant warmth. The windows have wooden shutters. The property is nearby the market towns of Clitheroe and Longridge and in easy reach of the Lake District and the Yorkshire Dales. Stonehouse Cottage is a self-contained living space attached to the main house. There are a few steps, leading to an entrance porch with hanging space, a kitchen/living room, double bedroom and bathroom. Outside, there is a pretty decking area where guests may sit and relax in the summer. Your host (me) will be on hand during your stay and will endeavour to help in any way to enhance your Holiday. There are two well attended Churches and a local Spar all in easy walking distance. Ribchester was founded by the Romans in AD 79. You can see the old Roman Bathhouse and Granary and visit the fascinating Roman Museum. A car is essential as public transport is limited. Frequent trains can take you into Manchester from a station only 4 miles away. The best way to get around however is to walk. We can provide information about local restaurants - there are many lovely places to eat in the Ribble Valley. The Ribchester Arms right next door, and the White Bull pub just a very short walk away are both very popular places to eat out. The Black Bull pub is a popular venue with locals. There are also two local cafes. Janis's is great for a buttie on the go and Potter's barn offers a welcoming fire, great food and the option of pottery painting as well - great for a rainy day. We can suggest local walks and other activities.
