This is your perfect gateway house intended either for relaxed stays on the island and as a base from which you can visit the city of Dubrovnik. Stay here and enjoy its spacious terrace with a beautiful seaside view surrounded by a mediterranean garden. This apartment is situated in a conveniently located house commanding beautiful views of the stunning bay of Donje Celo, on the island of Kolocep. It has been recently completely refurbished to a high standard and can comfortably accommodate 4-5 people on the middle floor with a large garden. For bigger groups the top floor of the house with a 2 person suite and a terrace can be rented additionally. The house is right by the sea, and a couple of minutes from the grocery shop, post office, cafe, bistro and a cosy restaurant. A short walk along the bay, in a very romantic setting, there is a charming restaurant popular for evening meals (Villa Ruža). The main sandy beach on the island is a three-minute walk from the house, with options of renting sun umbrellas, beach loungers and kayaks. The apartment is equipped with air conditioning in every room, wi-fi, washer, DVD player and a satellite TV. The kitchen is also very well equipped, with dish washer, kettle, microwave, oven and a toaster. There's a private spacious terrace surrounded by a garden of Mediterranean plants at your disposal. On the terrace there is a dining table, outdoor shower, barbecue and deck chairs from which you can enjoy beautiful sunsets. Our family will meet you and greet you, explain you everything there is to know about the house and the island and help you with anything you may need, and we will most probably be in the city house during your stay. The island of Kolocep is situated near the city of Dubrovnik and is part of the Elaphiti Islands. The island's flora includes tall pine, cypress and olive groves. Kolocep's climate is of a moderate Mediterranean type with more than 250 sunny days a year. The summers can be quite warm (30 degreed celsius) while spring and autumn are usually moderate and sunny. Kolocep, locally known as Kalamota, is the closest island to Dubrovnik and it can be reached by regular ferry service "Jadrolinija" four times throughout the day. It is a 35 minute boat ride from one port to the other (Dubrovnik–Kolocep). There are also various shuttle boats and water taxi services that you can use as well. There are two villages on the island called Gornje Celo and Donje Celo. Both are situated in their respective coves with a 3 kilometre (1.9 miles) path in between. Kolocep is car free and ideal for taking relaxing walks along its sign posted winding routes. The population of the island is 150. Clear waters surrounding the island range from deep blue to turquoise aqua. The coastline has a number of hidden coves: one of them, locally known as the Blue Cave, can be accessed by swimming from the south side of the island. It can also be reached by private taxi boat. Dubrovnik has an international airport of its own approximately 20 km from Dubrovnik city centre. From the airport in Dubrovnik you can take the airport shuttle bus. It costs 40 Kn and it takes about half an hour depending on traffic. The bus stops at the at the main bus station Gruz. Airport shuttle car service costs about 260 kn and you can contact us in to arrange this type of transportation. The island of Kolocep can be reached by regular "Jadrolinija" ferry service by a ship named "Postira". The tickets can be bought at the "Jadrolinja" office, just opposite the pier in the port of Gruž and the journey takes about 35 minutes. The ship sails four times a day, except on Sundays and holidays. Also, a taxi boat option is available (500kn). Kolocep is car free. In case you are arriving by car, you can leave your car in Dubrovnik port parking (24 hours safe parking with price circa 100kn per day).
