Escape from the city to a ground floor holiday flat on the small Moreton bay island within walking distance to the ferry. Accommodation is simple; you can borrow the old bikes, and go fishing from the shore. The garden is fenced and child and pet friendly. Indeed children are welcome and we have extra beds. Lamb Island is known locally as the garden island. The garden is well shaded by big ficus trees and we grow some of our own food. The 1970s holiday house was divided in to two flats sometime in the 1980s so it has character rather than being modern. Guests will have access through the side door to sitting/dining area and kitchen, bedroom (room with QB and room for extra) and bathroom. The bedroom is ideal for two, but not huge. Fine for a couple. We have a portable cot, there is no bath, and only a plastic baby bath if needed. We live upstairs and happy to advise on all island activities. You can swim in the small enclosure at high tide, walk out along exposed rocky spits at low and get a meal at the club on the weekend. Neither suburb or rural, you can meet all kinds on Lamb. Ferries to the neighbouring islands of McLeay, Karragarra and Russel are free. We also offer a charter boat service on a 5metre rib. Stradbroke Ferries service the small bay islands from Redlands Bay and you can book to bring your car by barge. Alternatively, and you hardly need a car on Lamb given it is small, you can catch a passenger ferry from the passenger terminal at Redlands Bay. There are supermarkets, and taxis, on the neighbouring Russel [IGA] and MacLeay Islands {SPAR]. Borrow our shopping trolley to walk from the ferry. There is a small shop on Lamb Island for essentials, milk, break and tea. We operate out own 5 metre boat in survey. If you want to bring your pets please discuss it with us first as they will need to be greyhound friendly. Dogs are allowed on the passenger ferry but must be caged or muzzled according to strict guidelines.
