Only a couple of minute's to the start of the ST. TAMMANY TRACE; a bike, walk, horse trail linking Covington to Fountainbleau Park in Mandeville. Available for special events such as weddings, yoga workshops. Art galleries, restaurants and shopping in walking distance. Beautifully decorated private bedroom with two DOUBLE beds (really a two person accommodation because you will be snuggling if their are two people in one double bed), bath (original bath from 1957) and balcony overlooking a river. Located on an oak lined street in the heart of historic downtown. Across the street, dine at The English Tea House, around the corner coffee shops, antiques, restaurants and art galleries. Bike rentals at Brooks a few blocks away and kayak rentals available upstream at Chimes Restaurant. A couple of blocks walk to seasonal monthly events, Second Saturday Art Stroll, Final Friday Antique Car Show, Third Friday Free Landing Concert by the river, Every Saturday and Wednesday Farmer's Market and The St. Tammany Trace where locals and visitors can bike, jog or walk to several nearby towns. Just a 45 min drive to the French Quarter in New Orleans. A few minutes drive to the famous Abita Springs Opry House, The Pontchartrain Vineyards that host the "Jazz in the Vines" concerts and tasting, Ponchatoula that host the renowned Strawberry Festival. Less than a two hour drive to Waveland to walk along the Gulf Coast. I can also rent you time and space if you are wanting to host a workshop/seminar from the house. The house can also be rented for other temporary purposes such as weddings, art openings and working studios. I teach Kundalini yoga and Vipassana meditation and you are welcome to join in. The fee is $20 per student. If you are looking for a place of refuge you have discovered it here at The House of Dunn. There is street parking in front and a parking lot nearby. Please do not park in the driveway or block it from the street. The room is total and complete with coffee and tea, and microwave, however if you need access to the kitchen . Just let me know! It is best to use the front door when coming and going or exploring the back yard. The back area is beautiful for you to enjoy from the balcony. You are welcome to spend time in the front entrance courtyard area . You have a lovely balcony with a view of the entire property and can sit there and sip your tea and watch the birds, rabbits, raccoons and other delightful critters that pass by... I'm a private person but I do love to chat with my guest when the opportunity arises. I teach yoga and meditation classes and will be glad to schedule a private class for guest at a time convenient for them for them. Private classes are 90 minutes and the fee is $100. This old house is one of great healing for me and those who are guest so please know that you will be coming to a beautiful sanctuary. This is the most wonderful neighborhood! Oak lined street with The Tea Room across the street...antique shops...dress shops...hair salons...restaurants just around the corner. Everything is so convenient around here you don't need a car and a bike rental is in walking distance if you want to explore by bike. I have WiFi if you request the password. No televisions! since 2005. Nice and quiet house with great positive healing energy.
