Loki's Lodge situated in the beautiful Wye Valley

Loki's Lodge is situated in the heart of Symonds Yat West, over looking the River Wye. It is the perfect place for a peaceful getaway surrounded by nature. Spend the day taking a walk along the River Wye and stop for lunch at one of Symonds Yat's famous pubs where you can cross the river using the ancient hand ferry and continue your walk up to the famous Yat Rock viewpoint where Peregrine Falcons can be seen nesting in the rock faces. The main living area consists of a seating area, dining table, TV and french doors that look out on to a small patio area. Behind the sitting area there is a kitchen with oven, hob, fridge, microwave etc. Through the door you will find an en suite double bedroom with wardrobe, bedside tables and a full length mirror. Lovely big windows look out over the valley. In the bathroom you will find a basin, toilet & shower. The sofa in the living area pulls out to provide another small double bed which can be used for extra guests but please bare in mind that there is only the one bathroom which in accessed through the bedroom. Extra bedding is available for guests using the sofa bed. There are lovely big french doors which lead out onto the patio where you will find a seating area perfect for a coffee and breakfast while watching the sun rise over the hill & listening to the birds, watching out for the deer who often pass through the property too. Things to do: There are endless walks starting from the front door, through woodland and along the river. River cruises along the Wye - (Dog friendly) Canoeing and paddle boarding can be booked at various places in the area. Goodrich Castle - Approx 10 minute drive Forest of Dean Sculpture Trail - Approx 20 minute drive Puzzlewood (No dogs allowed) - Approx 25 minute drive - Great for kids and is a magical place which has been used as a setting in many films including Merlin, Star Wars & Doctor Who. Visit Symonds Yat East , the home of the famous Scandinavian Chalet where Netflix's Sex Education is filmed. Nearby Pubs: The Wye Knot - Approx 5 minute walk away (Currently no food) Ye Old Ferrie Inn - Approx 5 minute walk away with riverside seating The Old Court Hotel - Approx 10 minute walk away The Saracens Head - Approx 3.5 mile walk crossing the Biblins bridge or a much shorter walk using the ancient hand ferry Due to the nature of the area, this stay is not recommended for wheelchair users, there is also a small step from the main living area to the bedroom. There is ample parking for 2 vehicles along side the cabin. The driveway is steep with a bend so please be prepared for this when arriving and please drive up in 1st gear. You can see the driveway in the photos. Symonds Yat is a village in the Wye Valley and a popular tourist destination, straddling the River Wye . There is plenty to do in the area including canoeing & paddle boarding. There are several friendly pubs within walking distance and a village shop also a short walk away. There is parking for up to 2 vehicles. The market towns of Ross-On-Wye & Monmouth are both a short drive away and have good amenities. There are several pubs and a village shop within walking distance. 1 large or 2 small well behaved dogs allowed but please be aware, there are other dogs on the property. A small dog bowl, towel & blanket will be provided for guests bringing their dog. Please don't allow your dog on the bed, they can sit on the sofa but please use the dog blanket provided to protect the sofa.
