Change-over related information and emergency call out numbers will be available in the house. Portmellon boasts a beautiful beach 150 metres from the house, along with a pub and a beach-side cafe. There is also stand-up paddle board and kayak hire available in the summer. The idyllic seaside fishing village of Mevasgissey is a short walk away, and offers a wide range of shops, pubs and restaurants. There are also fishing, sightseeing and dolphin spotting boat trips available to book, as well as a water taxi to Fowey. There are many other things to do in the area if the weather is not so nice. The old market town of St Austell is 20 minutes away and has a good selection of supermarkets and larger shops, as well as a cinema. There are many things to see and do within a 30 minute drive from the town. Mevagissey is a 5 - 10 minutes walk from the house. There are two main bus routes from there. The no. 24 runs a regular service to Fowey via St. Austell and the no. 471 goes from town to Gorran Haven via Heligan Gardens. St. Austell has a mainline station with direct trains to London. Please keep children off the sea wall for the protection of the plants and their own safety. Also, just to reiterate, there will be a small extra cleaning fee for pets.
