Relax & enjoy nature in the middle of the forest 3

In the center of the "Pays des 1000 Etangs" (1000 lakes-region) of the Bourgogne Franche-Comté in the Southern Vosges Mountains – some call the area “Little Finland” – in the canyon of the Breuchin river, lies the town of Sainte Marie-en-Chanois, with its 202 inhabitants, founded in the Middle Ages. A steep road goes straight up into the woods – there we are: "Pas de Deux", our home, B&B, art gallery and workshop facilities with, of course, a lake. The Ferme from 1890, in the middle of the forest, we have developed as our residential and seminar house plus art gallery. Between workshops we offer our guest rooms as a Bed & Breakfast. The property with a little lake and cozy places for relaxation or creative working, is an ideal base for hiking and biking in the unique and mythical national park of the “Thousand Lakes region” of Bourgogne-Franche-Comté. Your room will be number 3, "La Haute", where you can choose between a double bed or two single beds – with a shared bathroom, plus second WC. All of our guest are of course welcome to move freely on the property: relax on deck chairs, close to our space for campfires, walk around the little lake, watch the birds, fish, frogs, dragonflies … Indoors, our art gallery is always open for you to regard our work of photographies and paintings. We are happy to advise you if you have any questions about the location or the leisure activities. Occasionally we get into interesting conversations with our guests, but of course you'll feel entirely free to enjoy in peace the place and nature on your own. You step out of the house, and start your hike or bike tour through the woods … or you might start a trip by car to see more of the 1000 lakes region with its beautiful lakes, gardens or "Ballons", the mountains of the Vosges. You might visit the thermal baths of Luxeuil-les-Bains and its excavations, dating back to the time of the Romans, or Le Corbusier's chapel of Ronchamp, and much more.
