Dog friendly home with stunning sea views in Tywyn
Swn Y Mor means sound of the sea and you really couldn't get much closer to the sea than here! With stunning views of Cardigan Bay it is situated in Tywyn on the edge of the Snowdonia National Park. The perfect location for a relaxing break or an activity packed holiday. We understand that dogs are part of the family. We are a dog friendly two bedroom house with WIFI and off street parking and have all the facilities needed for a comfortable stay. Additional charge of £20 for dogs per stay. *New Listing available from 23rd October 2021* This property is all about the view, and what a view! The extended balcony with glass balustrade has comfortable rattan furniture, here you can watch the world go by, look out for dolphins or relax with a book and a cuppa. As evening approaches get your camera ready to capture some of our spectacular sunsets. Downstairs we have a small garden with a large deck and further seating as well as two comfortable hammock chairs. There is a gate which takes you directly across the promenade and onto the beach. Dog owners should note that the garden is insecure, but a long lead is available if required. Bedroom 1 - 'Captains Quarters' is situated on the ground floor with access into the garden this is the master bedroom. It has a king size bed and plenty of wardrobe storage Bedroom 2 - situated on the ground floor it has zip lock beds and can be presented as a twin or a superking depending on our guests requirements. The bathroom has a large walk in shower, WC and basin. It should be noted that there is no bath at the property. Although we do not claim to be disabled friendly we have a stair lift fitted which is available to guests who may have mobility issues. The lounge has a large corner leather sofa and chair comfortably seating four. Part of the sofa is a chaise lounge and the other end has an electric reclining seat, the chair is also an electric recliner. There is a 42" flat screen smart TV and dvd player with some DVD's available for guests use. Behind the lounge is a dining room table with four chairs which also have a great view of the sea The kitchen with breakfast bar and stools has a halogen hob with two ovens. There is a dishwasher, washing machine, Dolce Gusto coffee machine, kettle and toaster as well as all the items you would expect to find. We have a baby bath, high chair and stair gate available to guests with small children. There is parking for one car on the drive, but there are no parking restrictions and a second car can park across the drive if needed. Steve and I live locally and will be available to assist you with any enquiries you may have. Steve is a long distance runner with almost 250 marathons under his belt. He knows some great routes for runs, walks and bike rides. He is also a member of the Aberdyfi Search and Rescue team with excellent knowledge of the local mountains as well as a member of the Coastguard Rescue Team - hopefully you won't meet him in either capacity! Tywyn is a lovely town with a great holiday feel. It has a wonderful beach and at low tide you can easily walk down to Aberdyfi (4 miles). Dogs are excluded from the beach for the short distance in front of the promenade between April and September, but either side they are welcome all year around. Everything in Tywyn is walking distance from the house. There are several pubs, restaurants and take aways in Tywyn. The town is proud of its lovely Victorian cinema, The Magic Lantern which has a licensed bar and a garden. We have a Coop and a Spar, as well as a garage for fuel. There are all the shops you would expect such as a pharmacy, post office, newsagents, butcher, baker and craft shops. We have a cottage hospital, Health Centre and dentist and main line station. Tywyn is probably best known for the world famous Talyllyn narrow gauge steam railway which takes passengers to Dolgoch waterfalls and Abergynolwyn village. In August the rotary club organise 'Race the Train' which is a 14 mile race against the steam train and attracts runners of all standards. There is a mainline train that runs from Pwllheli on the Llyn Peninsular to Birmingham International and the route from Machynlleth up to Pwllheli is simply stunning particularly as you pass over the Mawddach Estuary towards Barmouth. The area is a walkers paradise. The well known Cadair Idris mountain only a 20 minutes drive away and the Welsh Costal Path passes the back of the house. We have Tywyn leisure park close by with crazy golf, pitch and put etc., and a nice play ground for younger children as well as the Buccaneer arcade. Aberdyfi is around 4 miles away and is a very pretty village where you can go crabbing from the jetty, book fishing trips or learn to stand up paddle board. Aberdyfi also has some lovely pubs and restaurants. Perhaps you could walk along the beach to Aberdyfi for a nice lunch and catch the train back. Tywyn has a main line train running from Birmingham International station to Machynlleth where is splits and travels on to Aberystwyth / Pwllheli. The train journey is stunning and highly recommended. There is a limited bus service and there are also Taxi's locally. The house has a driveway for one vehicle, but there are no parking restrictions in our road and you can park another across the drive. There are many car parks in Tywyn most of which charge for parking, but the rates are reasonable. The coastal path passes the house and there are plenty of walks and cycle routes in the local area.
