The Folly is a detached 19th Century Cotswolds cottage. Newly converted from a farm equipment store, the cottage has an open plan kitchen and sitting room, with TV, Wifi and well equipped kitchen with dishwasher. Upstairs is a bedroom with vaulted ceiling and ensuite shower room. The Folly is charming, spacious and with underfloor heating and full insulation it is a comfortable and relaxed home from home. We have a 7kW charger with Type2 7-pin plug for charging your Electric Vehicle. The Folly is light, airy, comfortable and is warm in Winter and cool in summer, just outside the front door is a small patio to enjoy coffee and lovely views over the Golden Valley. There is Waitrose in Stroud and you can arrange a delivery to the Folly on the morning of your stay. (Tea, coffee, milk, sourdough bread and butter, jam and cheese are provided) The Folly allows you your own home away from home with parking for your car and patio space. We are in the house on the same grounds and are on hand if needed. We can help with lifts to and from the station. Brimscombe is two miles from Stroud and Nailsworth, and a mile from Chalford. A perfect location for exploring the Cotswolds. Stroud is a fantastic centre for arts & crafts. Close by are the renowned Pangolic Foundry and Gallery, Wet Paint Gallery and Victoria Works Studios. In Cirencester is New Brewery Arts, and within reasonable driving distances are the historical towns and cities of Gloucester (9 miles), Bath (28miles) and Bristol (33miles). Local attractions are Highgrove Gardens - beautiful gardens designed and planted by Prince Charles; Westonbirt Arboretum, the national Arboretum of England set in 600 acres of beautiful woodland (and an exciting concert venue), The Rococo Gardens, and Berkeley Castle. For foodies there are numerous restaurants, local produce shops, the Stroud Brewery and Woodchester Valley Vineyard. Stroud is famous for its local art scene, musicians artists and writers practice, exhibit, perform and teach check out (Website hidden by Airbnb) for all the latest events. For art & craft courses there is plenty to choose from, from 3hour workshops to week long courses. Check out: Stroud Museum in the Park, Pegasus Art, Stroud Life Drawing, Stroud College, New Brewery Arts, Hawkwood College. The Folly is an ideal base for those coming to the 'big events' - Cheltenham Festival (March), Badminton Horse Trails (April), the Royal International Air Tattoo (July), and the numerous arts festivals held each year around Stroud in Film, Music, Art Open Studios and Literature. We are two miles from Stroud Station and can arrange lifts.There is a local timetabled bus service to Stoud and Cirencester - the bus stop is about 200 yards from the Folly. Please note the bedroom is on the first floor, accessed by stairs. NO pets.
