Elegant Double Ensuite bedroom BALA
Set within a quiet courtyard Ty Llwyd is part of the former Bala workhouse, dating from around 1836, a recently renovated 3 storey Victorian terrace. Set among the beautiful Snowdonia National Park you can find an abundance of truly stunning landscapes to explore from the doorstep. Llyn Tegid (Bala Lake) is a short walk from the house with canoeing, kayaking, paddle boarding, fishing available, numerous walking and cycling trails and all local amenities, pubs, shops, and cafes within 200yds. We offer a comfortable double room with double bed, chest of drawers, smart TV and free wifi. There are tea and coffee making facilities and hairdryer. There is an ensuite bathroom with toilet, wash hand basin and slipper bath with hand held shower attachment to soak and relax after a day walking the wonderful hills and lakes of North Wales. PLEASE NOTE the bath may be unsuitable for some guests with mobility issues as the sides are quite high. There is access to a shared fridge on the landing and we provide complimentary milk and water. From 17/5/21, breakfast will be served in the large lounge /diner on the ground floor. We provide a choice of home made breakfast options, including American pancakes, omelettes and breakfast pastries all freshly made by our resident cook (the wife!) This is a family home we share with a 7 year old Jack Russell Terrier and a rather lazy Tabby Cat called Finn, neither have access to the bedroom but please don’t book if you suffer from pet/fur allergies. Safe storage for bicycles is available. Parking is in the public car park opposite the courtyard and we will provide a parking pass for your stay. The town and lake shore are easily accessible by foot and are only minutes away. Access to the shared courtyard is through an arched gateway, there is a key code pad on the gate and the code will be given to you on arrival. A door key and room key will be given to guests. Ty Llwyd is situated in a quiet courtyard off Plassey Street at the rear of Bala Main Street. Its a quick 200yd walk to the shops, pubs, restaurants and it takes 4-5 minutes to walk to Bala Lake. Bala is a small town within the Snowdonia National Park and is an ideal base for exploring Gwynedd and Snowdonia. The town itself is well equipped with eateries and pubs which are now lifting Covid 19 restrictions and allowing indoor hospitality. However it is wise to pre book as space is limited indoors. Canoeing, paddle boarding is available at the lakeside, and bicycle hire is also available within the town. The National Whitewater Centre is 3 miles out of town where you can find rafting, canoeing and gorge walking, there are also walks along the Trywern river. Snowdon, Zip World and Parc Snowdonia are approx 45 minute drive from Bala. The pretty coastal towns of Barmouth, Harlech, Criccieth and Porthmadog are 30 -40 minutes drive. There are many stunning walks up mountains, past lakes, waterfalls and coastline. Please note this is a family home and we do have an overly friendly Jack Russel terrier and a rather lazy Tabby Cat neither of whom will have access to your room, as such this may not be suitable for people with fur allergies.
