The Lawrenny Hostel
Set in the picturesque village of Lawrenny and surrounded by organic farmland, our hostel provides comfortable and simple accommodation. A relaxed and friendly base for your stay, you can rent the whole hostel of 3 bedrooms sleeping a total of 12 people. Lawrenny is at the heart of the 'Secret Waterway'. The Daugleddau estuary meanders through the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, shrouded in ancient woodland. Our three bedrooms are clean and comfortable and made up ready for you (although we ask that you bring your own towels), and each room has a washbasin. There is one bathroom area (not ensuite) that has 2 power showers, 3 lavatories and more washbasins. There is also a drying room available for when the sea, or the estuary, get the better of you and your clothes! Downstairs there is an open plan sitting room and kitchen with plenty of sofas for taking a well-earned rest after a busy day enjoying the sights and sounds of the area. The kitchen is well equipped for all your self-catering needs, but if you don't fancy cooking up a storm the Lawrenny Arms is just a 10 minute walk, or 2 minute drive away. Outside we have a patio with a table and chairs and two picnic benches. There is also a double barbecue for those warm summer evenings when nothing will do but that char-grilled flavour for your sausages. You can also book the village hall for a supplement, it has an adjoining door and is a great space for a party, extra running around room for children, or to run seminars or leisure courses. There is a large car park to the rear of the hostel. The hostel is located in a very small village with lots of young families so we ask that you are quieter in the evenings as to not make too much of a disturbance. The host will greet you at the beginning of your stay to show you around and answer any questions you may have. She will also be available to contact throughout the duration of your stay if any problems arise. Set in the quaint village of Lawrenny with its community shop 2 minutes away and pub within 10 minutes walking distance, it's the perfect place to unwind and relax. There are some beautiful walks around Lawrenny, starting with "The Loop". This 3 mile walk takes in the best of the countryside and estuary views and can be done in either direction, although we prefer finishing at the Quayside Tearooms with one of their delicious cakes or a spot of lunch! The waters around Lawrenny are perfect for kayaking. You can bring your own equipment, or rent all you need from local suppliers. Spend your time exploring up and down river, stopping at scenic points along the way. A particular favourite with visitors and locals alike is the Cresselly Arms at Cresswell Quay. A magical spot for an evening drink when the tide is high. We are also very close to popular towns such as Tenby and St Davids where you can enjoy the many beaches they have to offer and the St Davids Cathedral. This is a very good location for active adventurers with plenty of activities such as coasteering, paddleboarding, kayaking and many more aquatic activities.
