Historical, single frontage stone cottage nestled in a quiet, one way street in Prospect. Wally's Place has recently been fully renovated and tastefully furnished. It has all new modern appliances whilst still retaining the integrity of a much loved 1890’s home which continues to evoke a lifetime of wonderful memories for Wally’s family and will hopefully create new memories for future guests. This cottage is a perfect retreat for two people to explore what our beautiful Adelaide has to offer. Enter the cottage from a small, private, paved front courtyard area, through a hallway, past the bedroom, and into a large, light filled homely lounge room with comfy couches, a wall mounted TV and Wally's beloved piano. The bedroom has a Queen sized bed with quality linen, beautiful light fittings,a ceiling fan, ample built in wardrobe space and glass doors which open out to the front courtyard area. The kitchen is fully equipped with quality appliances (gas cooktop,electric oven,dishwasher,pod coffee machine,microwave), cookware, crockery, glassware and accessories, perfect for those wanting to create culinary magic. The dining room is flooded with light from the glass doors that lead out to the backyard. Enjoy a coffee sitting on the bar stools at the kitchen bench. There is a modern bathroom, separate toilet, and fully equipped laundry with a washing machine and dryer. The paved backyard, with a comfy outdoor setting, provides a lovely space for enjoying the garden beds and established trees, which encourage the birds to visit and create a pleasing aesthetic environment. There are limited free street parking spaces available. You will be greeted by your host or may have access to the key lock box if prior arrangements are agreed to. We are available throughout your stay if you need us. For long term stays we will always greet you. Fresh towels and linen and a cleaning service can be provided each week, or fortnight, for an additional fee. It is conveniently located a short 10 min drive from the Rundle Mall in the centre of the city of Adelaide. Many places of interest in Adelaide are within a 4km radius and can easily be reached by driving, walking, or riding a bike, including the Adelaide Oval & Memorial Drive (Football, Tennis Cricket), the Festival Theatre and Adelaide Entertainment Centre, the Adelaide Zoo and Botanic Gardens, the Iconic Adelaide Central Market, the National Wine Centre, SA Museum & Art Gallery, Adelaide Golf Club, Hindmarsh Stadium (Soccer) and the River Torrens. During Adelaide's world renowned Summer Festival season this cottage is an ideal base for attending the Adelaide Festival, Adelaide Fringe Festival, WOMADelaide, Adelaide Cabaret Festival, Santos Tour Down Under, the Australian International 3 Day Event (Equestrian Trials) and Tasting Australia. The North Adelaide & Prospect shopping and restaurant precincts are close by and O'Connell St, Prospect Rd, & Melbourne St all offer numerous excellent takeaway and dining choices and some great bars and pubs. Plant 4 at Bowden is great for trendy cafes & markets. Wally's Place is 5kms from the RAH and just 10km from the Airport. Beautiful beaches such as Henley, Grange, Brighton & Tennyson are all only a 20-30 min drive away, or take a Tram ride to bustling Glenelg Beach where you can swim, eat and shop. Perfectly located for day trips to the Adelaide Hills to visit wineries or the historic town of Hahndorf, the McLaren Vale and Barossa Vale wine regions, or to see the Whales from the shores of Victor Harbour & Port Elliot. The cottage is Non Smoking accomodation and as it is situated in a residential area we ask guests to be considerate of the neighbours. All of the Adelaide City attractions are a few minutes drive or a $10-$15 Uber trip. There are also bus stops nearby and good walking and bike tracks through the Adelaide parklands that ring the city.
