Unspoilt views, serene, tranquil are just a few of the words which guests have said to describe the location of the accommodation A short walk or bike ride from the cottage leads you to the Sustrans Route 24 which is a cycle path with Two Tunnels Cut under some of south Bath’s hills you can travel through the mile-long Combe Down tunnel via foot or by bike. It is Britain’s longest cycle tunnel which takes you straight into bath without having to go on any roads once on the path. Don't have a bike no problem you can hire bikes from a number of bike rental shops in Bath. The cottage is situated just 5 miles SW of Bath, beautiful architecture such as the Royal Crescent, the Circus and Pulteney Bridge plus various museums and attractions are all close by. FOOD AND DRINK EATING OUT LOCAL PUBS (a short walk from the cottage.) The Fox and Badger just down the hill in Wellow serves up delicious high quality local food (booking advised). The Hope and Anchor in Midford serves hearty traditional pub grub and is on the cycle route into Bath. EATING OUT BATH Fine Dinning, Gastro Pubs, Cafes and other great eateries can all be found in Bath All of which are a short drive or taxi journey just minutes away from the cottage where dishes from around the world can be found in some of the UK’s leading restaurants and not to mention there is also the familiar eateries one would expect to find in any modern city. EATING IN The Modern Country cottage kitchen – complete with Belfast sink and quirky breakfast table – is the perfect domain in which to create culinary delights featuring the very best of local produce. There is the fantastic award winning White Rowe Farm shop a short drive away to stock up on Fine local produce. Best times to travel to Bath and to Twinhoe Cottage. To avoid commuter traffic the best times are between: 9.45am to 3pm then 6.30pm onwards. Differnt days of the week such as Friday can vary. Or seasonal events such as the Bath Christmas market can impact on traffic. It is always worth checking route planners and and live maps which display traffic updates. PARK AND RIDE BUS SERVICE For day trips into bath there is a bus service which runs from the Midford road. Or there is park car and ride on bus service located at Odd Down Bath BA2 8PD this is a short drive from the property The cottage is set within a private gated property a short drive from bath approximately 15 Mins Walk straight into bath on virtually no roads from the cottage: A train line built in 1874 has been converted into a new cycle route which takes you directly into Bath called the Sustrans Route 24. This includes Two Tunnels Cut under some of south Bath’s hills following a scenic traffic-free loop between Bath and Midford, then back again via the canal towpath. Along the route you can travel through the mile-long Combe Down tunnel, Britain’s longest cycle tunnel. MENU GORDON JONES One of the number 1 restaurants in Bath is called Menu Gordon Jones there is a long waiting list booking in advance is required however in the week you can sometimes find availability. THE PACKHORSE PUB From the cottage you can walk to a Pub called the Packhorse in southstoke this is a recently renovated listed pub this walk takes approximately 40 minutes. The walk is straight down the path which takes you to the river then back up to the other side of the valley and the pub is located on the other side of the hill. HORSE RIDING Horse riding is available from the wellow trekking centre. CYCLING If you don't have a bike there are a few companies in Bath which offer hire and there are also bikes available to hire via apps. LONGLEAT SAFARI PARK Longleat Safari Park is about 30-40 minutes away. FARM SHOP There is a good farm shop off of the roundabout in Beckington about 15 minutes away it is called White Row Farm Shop Beckington, Frome BA11 6TN FARMERS MARKET Bath also has a farmers market located at green park station.
