Dishcombe Cottage, South Zeal, Dartmoor, Devon
A large, beautifully renovated granite cottage located on the northern edge of Dartmoor, privately set behind the owners' house with far reaching views over the Devon countryside. The property benefits from 3 double bedrooms and two bathrooms upstairs and on the ground floor a large open plan sitting room / dining area with wood burner, a separate loo and large kitchen. Dishcombe is dog friendly subject to a charge of £25 per pet per week to cover additional cleaning costs - see house rules. Dishcombe cottage was converted in 2017 from an artist's studio, tack room, hayloft and the original farm cottage forming part of Dishcombe to provide a very spacious 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom home. Two of the bedrooms can be made up either as two singles or as super king and the third bedroom has a king size bed. On the ground floor there is a large open plan sitting room, a loo and a well-equipped kitchen. Outside there is ample parking for several vehicles a secluded garden area and access to the open countryside. The entire cottage is exclusively for your use. Outside you are welcome to wander over our fields - there are 9 acres to explore. There is ample space and a grassed area to the front of the cottage to enjoy and you can see our chickens and ducks in the pond nearby. We are usually around and are very happy to chat and offer advice on local walks and places to eat or shop. Dishcombe is small hamlet of 4 houses close to both the villages of South Zeal (2 pubs, Oxenham Arms and Kings Arms plus village shop) and South Tawton. It is ideal walking country with easy access to the high moor and miles of open countryside. Dishcombe is a mile from the village of South Zeal. There is a bus service serving Okehampton and Exeter, but this is relatively infrequent and visiting by car is easiest. There is ample parking outside the cottage for three cars. Dishcombe is a typical Dartmoor property, the ground is steep and uneven in places with several small streams and ponds so care is needed particularly with small children.
