The Stable Dural

The Stable Dural is a beautiful architect designed accommodation located on rural acres in Dural NSW. It is self-contained with a large lounge/ dining area, kitchen, bathroom and laundry on the ground floor and a queen size bedroom with a large veranda on the upper floor. The Stable is situated in a quiet rural setting looking out onto horse paddocks and tall gum trees. The building was completed in late 2017 occupying the spot where our horse stable once stood. If you are looking for privacy and the sound of birds this is the place for you. Look for '2 The Stable' sign on the street. Drive up the 60 metre driveway and your accommodation is on your left. Park right at your front door. The Stable has its own entrance with french doors leading to a lawn area with table, chairs and umbrella. A BBQ is also available. We have a pool which booked guests are welcome to share during daylight hours. Beach towels are provided. We live in the house which is about 20 metres away. We would aim to welcome all our guests and would be only too pleased to chat and talk from time to time during your stay. Please knock on our door anytime during the day. We have a key safe system for late arrivals. We are just 10mins drive from the nearest shops and restaurants in Galston and Dural Villages. Both have post offices, medical centres and supermarkets. The local area has many orchards growing stone fruit and citrus. These products and others can be bought from roadside stalls during the summer season. There are many plant nurseries nearby such as Swanes, Hargraves, Flower Power, etc. The beautiful Fagan Park is only 10 mins drive away and Berowra Waters with its Fish cafe, Waterview restaurant/ reception centre and the marina is about 20 mins drive. Springfield Reception Centre and Bivianos are nearby. A great base for exploring further north - Wisemans Ferry, Mooney Mooney, Brooklyn, etc. Public transport is minimal in the area. There are some lovely drives to local parks and nearby waterways. These and others will be detailed in our House Information book. If you wanted to go to Sydney city you have the option of driving - about 45 mins, a bus service departs from a point about 10 mins drive away, or there is a train service from Hornsby station which is about 25 mins drive away. Sydney Airport is about 60 mins drive. We are in close proximity to M2, M7 and F1 motorways. Castle Hill and Hornsby shopping centres with cinemas and Norwest Business Park are all about a 20-25 mins drive away. Tea, coffee, hot chocolate and milk are provided for the first few days of all bookings. There is a capsule machine in the kitchen (for the coffee and hot chocolate) . The kitchen is fully functional with fridge, stove, microwave, dishwasher, etc. A welcome bottle of wine (red, white or sparkling) or soft drink is provided for you on your arrival - please advise your choice when booking. A Breakfast platter suitable for two people (see photo) is available at additional cost of $20 and can be ordered the day before. There are also many breakfast venues close by and supermarkets for purchase of provisions. There is a collection of books located in the bedroom area which guests are welcome to access plus there is a separate desk workspace off the lounge for writing or computer activities. NBN have zoned us as 'Remote Rural' and have supplied Internet connection via Satellite. This delivers a somewhat limited performance. The WIFI is fine for normal internet use e.g. emails, searches, etc. It is NOT suitable for more intensive such as video streaming and gaming. Mobile reception is fine for Telstra (we use it for streaming ) but Optus and Vodafone reception is virtually non-existent. A DVD player is available along with some DVDs. The premises will be serviced between all short term stays. For longer stays we will service the premises weekly at a time convenient to all. Housekeeping will include clean towels and linen and a general freshen up of the premises.
