Historic cottage near the castle
Between the Brecon Beacons National Park and the Cambrian Mountains, this is a great centre for beautiful countryside. Our pretty cottage with walled garden is in the quiet conservation area of the town. A "Heart of Wales" railway station is nearby. This is a comfortable "home-from-home" with a welcoming feel to it, that our own family uses from time to time. We hope you will like it as much as we do. There is a good-sized family bathroom and a shower room with toilet and small wash-basin. Guests may use the whole of the property and garden. We live only 10 minutes' drive away from the cottage, so we are available to welcome guests and give them any help they might need. The cottage is centrally located near Llandovery Castle and the fabulous statue of Llewelyn-ap-Gruffydd. Castle Street is quite charming and has repeatedly won the town's competition for the "prettiest street." Llandovery itself has local shops, cafes, pubs, restaurants and takeaways and there is a good childrens' playground next to the Castle. Although there is no private parking space, there are a few free-of-charge spaces VERY NEAR the cottage. On the rare occasions when these are all full, the Castle car park is also very nearby and charges £1.70 per day. Guests are strongly advised NOT to bring their cars along Castle Street itself: it is a very pretty but also quite narrow cul-de-sac. Being a very old property, we regret that the house is not very suitable for people with some disabilities. Both bathrooms are upstairs, which people with restricted mobility might find difficult.
