The Mill of "Solar dos Pedrosos"

Family friendly atmosphere The Manor of Pedrosos and its Chapel will have been built where there was a Roman agricultural "villa", and in it lived in 1687 Jose Inacio de Almeida Soveral, nobleman of the Royal House and captain of the Linhares militias who married Da Mariana Joaquina Pedroso da Costa and Magalhães, daughter of the Warden of Elvas. It was they who formed the Pedroso family in this village. One of the most important gentlemen of this house was António Pedroso de Sousa Coutinho Castelo Branco, knight of the Tower and Sword and one of the best presidents of the new county of Fornos de Algôdres, in the mid-nineteenth century. Parish memoirs mention that in 1758 she was the administrator of the Chapel Da Catarina and Almeida Soveral.
