Room in quiet, modern home in semi-rural location

Attractive room with double bed for single occupancy in luxury, modern, quiet home which backs onto lovely garden extending to shared field with fab views. Room is light and airy and has own sitting area with TV and desk. Almost sole use of adjacent family bathroom with bath and shower. Neighbourhood is on the edge of the South Downs National Park, yet close to city of Brighton & Hove with good links to London too. This is our home; we'll be sharing the space during evenings and weekends. Full access to all amenities (WiFi, kitchen, fridge, freezer, oven, microwave, dishwasher, food storage, washing machine and tumble dryer). As hosts, we are a professional, cheerful, easy-going, non-smoking couple. Note: you will also be sharing with two friendly cats. We can provide a light breakfast (tea, coffee & toast) included in the price if you would like this. Just ask! Amanda is a Head teacher and works long hours during week days during term time, so is generally not around between the hours of 8am and 6pm. Since the arrival of Covid-19, Jay now works at home but we have a study and he works from there, during office hours. As this is our home, we are around during the evenings and at weekends. Hassocks is a large village in mid-Sussex. It benefits from being very close to the city of Brighton and Hove but away from the hustle and bustle of city life. The house is set in a semi-rural location on the edge of the South Downs National Park, but is still easily accessible by road, bus and train. The house shares ownership of a field which backs on to the property and affords lovely countryside views from the tranquil garden; a quiet space to reflect at the end of the day! The house is just 8/10 minutes walk to Hassocks mainline station (two stops to Brighton, 15 mins to Gatwick, 45 mins to London). We are well located for both Brighton and Sussex Universities. 20 mins drive or 30 mins train journey. The house is also just 10 mins walk to the large village of Hassocks with good general amenities. Only 15 mins drive to Hove/20 minutes drive to Brighton and just 5 minutes to Burgess Hill where there is a large leisure centre with gym, full size pool and other sporting facilities. The house is located on the edge of the South Downs National Park (views of Wolstonbury Hill and the Jack and Jill Windmills, for example), so plenty of wonderful walks with amazing views, to be had. We have occasional guests staying (friends & family) - normally at the weekends, who will share the family bathroom at those times. Covid-19 Safety: Hand gel & antibacterial wipes are supplied in the bathroom and downstairs cloakroom and in the kitchen; we ask that guests help us to remain safe by using these products when using the shared facilities. Change of bedding during stay. In order to minimise risk, as hosts we won't be entering your room during your stay. For longer stay guests, clean bedding will be provided for you each week and we ask that you strip your bed and place dirty linen in the bag provided and leave outside your door. The house is cleaned by our cleaners on a Wednesday each week who follow their own Covid-safety guidelines. They will come into your room to provide a light dust and hoover. If you prefer they did not do this; please just say. The bedroom is deep cleaned and sanitised after each guest leaves.
