Three Bedroom Cottage in Snowdonia

This family and pet friendly three bedroom cottage is situated in a tiny hamlet in the heart of Snowdonia. World Heritage site Harlech is three miles up the road and Dwyryd estuary is a beautiful 15 minute walk along the river Glyn. There is a bus stop at a 100 metres from the house and Tygwyn train station is a 5 minute walk away. You can park your car in front of the cottage. Can accommodate 6 but I would say more comfortably 4! Downstairs there is a cosy living room with a beamed ceiling and Welsh stone fire place. There is seating for up to six people. The kitchen has a ceramic hob, grill and oven. The dining table in the kitchen can be extended to sit up to four people. The bathroom has a full sized bath and a shower above the bath. The cottage has oil fired stove central heating and constant hot water via the combi boiler. Upstairs there are three fully carpeted bedrooms. The master bedroom has a double bed, wardrobe and beautiful views across the marsh and fields beyond. The second bedroom has a single daybed, which opens out into a double bed, should you require, a chest of drawers and views of Harlech castle in the distance. The small third bedroom has a bunkbed and a small space to hang clothes. We aim to deal with any queries as quickly as possible via telephone, text or email. Glan-Y-Wern is a tiny hamlet of 11 houses on the road between Talsarnau and Harlech. It has beautiful views of Portmeirion and the Dwyryd estuary. The Welsh Coastal path runs nearby, as does the Ardudwy Way. There are never ending options of walks from cottage, as there are many footpaths nearby leading to the sea, surrounding hills, lakes and woodlands. The area is great for fishing in lakes, rivers and the sea. World renowned St David's golf course is three miles from Glan-Y-Wern. You have a choice of beaches nearby in Harlech, Borth-Y-Gest, Llandanwg, Shell Island, Dywffryn (featuring the UK's first nudist beach) and Barmouth. If you're a thrill seeker, Zip World in Blaenau Ffestiniog is only a 30 minute drive away. The nearest supermarkets are in Harech, Penrhyn and Porthmadog. Delightful tourist town Porthmadog is 15 minutes by car, 20 minutes by bus and 15 minutes by train. Or if you prefer, you could catch the steam train from nearby Penrhyn! Harlech has a world heritage castle, several lovely cafes, quirky shops, takeaway places and a number of restaurants. In the summer months, there is a park and ride scheme between Harlech beach and the castle. The nearest train stop is Tygwyn and is only a five minute walk from the cottage. Remember to put your hand out to let the train driver know you want to catch the train! The train from Tygwyn to Harlech takes only a few minutes. The nearest bus stop is 100 metres from the cottage for buses to Harlech, Barmouth, Porthmadog and beyond.
