Shaws Road B&B is set in an idyllic rural setting 45 minutes from Melbourne and is a fully self-contained one-bedroom luxury apartment with a private entrance, on the first floor of the farmhouse. A hamper of breakfast items is provided together with a complimentary bottle of our estate wine. There are panoramic views of vineyards, nearby farms and the distant Kinglake Ranges. Only 15 minutes drive to the world famous Yarra Valley wineries, eateries and the Chocolaterie. Great cafes nearby! Suitable for couples or a single who want to relax, indulge and enjoy time away from cares. Soak in the clawfoot bath while sipping wine, or watch the sunset go down while relaxing on the private balcony with an aperitif. The library is stocked with books. There are vintage leather club chairs in front of a wood burning fire for winter, and a private garden area for an outdoor picnic or BBQ in fine weather. The magnigicent ensuite bathroom has luxurious Salus products. Sadly this apartment and our farm is not suitable for children over 18 months. Additionally our animals consider this their territory, and we therefore cannot accommodate your pets. There is a laundry available for guests to use. There is a private garden for you alone, with BBQ facilities that can be provided on request. On arrival you will be greeted by our two gentle dogs and five free-range chickens. Your entry is via magnificent iron gates to the vineyard, and a key in a lockbox at the top of the private stairs to the apartment, so you can come and go with complete privacy. We live in a separate wing of the farmhouse and will respect your privacy at all times, but are on hand if there are any issues. We are only minutes away from the unique rural communities of St Andrews and Hurstbridge both of which have great coffee shops, bakeries, wine bars and restaurants. The famous St Andrews market is held every Saturday morning and is only 5 minutes drive away, so stock up on delicious food there and also at the St Andrews bakery with its vintage wood-fired oven. We are on a farm, and the only way to get here is by car. There is a lot of wildlife in our beautiful countryside, so be careful driving at dusk and dawn when the kangaroos are likely to jump across the road. Trains into the city of Melbourne are from Hurstbridge, a 10 minute drive from here, and journey in takes around 50-60 minutes. We are a one hour drive from the Melbourne Tullarmarine Airport. We have two adjoining apartments and it is possible for both apartments to be booked at the same time and integrated into one large suite for two couples. By booking out the entire top floor of the farmhouse you will also receive a free wine tasting of our estate wines conducted by the Winemaker, and a tour of the winery / production area / cellars.
