The Annexe is a large open plan space with exposed brickwork and alpine timber beams giving it a distinctive feel. The ensuite bathroom and kitchenette are accessed via a small spiral staircase . A large picture window looks out over woodland and makes the room bright and airy. The Annexe is attached to Skiddaw House, a large detached house in the small village of Heads Nook. There is a large double entrance driveway with secure off street parking and a secure storage for bikes. The annexe has it's own access up a small stair case. Once inside, the bathroom and kitchen are up a small metal staircase to a mezzanine area - the space is not suitable for people with mobility problems or small children Double bed, large wardrobe, futon sofa which can be used as additional double bed. Kitchenette has fitted units,a double induction hob, kettle, toaster, microwave and fridge. Please note there is no oven and the wood burning stove is not in use. We welcome dogs and outdoor types - the space is country style rather than swish urban living! The Annexe is self contained with it's own entrance - off road parking available We live in the main house and are likely to be around to answer questions or make recommendations but guests are independent. We will always have basic breakfast supplies available in the guests kitchenette (muesli, tea, coffee, bread, spreads) and can supply other things on request. Heads Nook is a rural situation, surrounded by woodland and farmland with quiet country lanes. There are numerous lovely walks around but Carlisle with its famous castle and city amenities is a short drive away and Brampton, a small market town, is just 10 minutes along the A69. There is quick easy access to the M6, Southern Scotland and the Lake District. There are several good local pubs, one within easy walking distance. Heads Nook is a small village about 7 miles from Carlisle - Hadrians Wall is 5 miles away and the Lake District/Keswick about 45 minutes drive. The village does not have any public transport or services but there are small shops about 2 miles away on the A69. please note; the kitchenette has a microwave, double induction hob, toaster and kettle -THERE IS NO OVEN. The wood burning stove creates a lot of dust and ash so is not routinely in use; there is a separate electric heater.
