Casa do Engenho

This is an antique olive house that was recovered and restored to receive tourists that wish to have contact with nature. It is crossed by an wild river, in an idyllic place near the village of Celorico de Basto. The olive house is part of a biological farm where the trees and the animals are very respected and there is a lot of wildlife to see. It´s an oportunity for the bird lovers to watch and learn about them, to breathe pure air and enjoy the beauty of an ancient forest with a lot of autoctone trees to see and to find :). There is a fluvial beach near and a public swiming pool and a lot of local rivers to find and enjoy. It stays near the camping park. There are a lot of monuments to see, like Arnoia Castle, and many manor houses. It is a region where you can find and taste great regional portuguese food and wine "vinho verde", that is unique in the world.
