Pretty 18th century cottage in Moretonhampstead, Dartmoor Devon. Double room with antique pine sleigh bed,small en-suite shower room,coffee & tea making facilities the room also has TV. Dog friendly. Continental breakfast included I have a double room with small en-suite . I also have a second double room with small en-suit on a separate listing,”The Old Smithy” My cottage is very relaxed and traditional. There is an informal sitting room,with a log burner and satellite TV and dining room. The price includes a continental breakfast,a full English breakfast is available for £6.50. I have secure dry bike storage if you are looking to cycle while on you’re stay There is a seating area in a small walled garden. I am a basket maker by trade,and very happy to arrange classes,full or half days,you will leave with a Somerset willow basket. please let me know in advance if possible so I can prepare the willow. Dog friendly,I have two little dogs. Dining room. Walled garden,may be used for smoking. I am always available to offer advice for walks, restaurants, sightseeing,and anything else you may need for you’re stay. Moretonhampstead is a moorland town with three popular cafes a variety of shops,three public houses that all serve excellent food & a popular pizza restaurant,pizzas are made on the premises ,booking a must, there is a heated outdoor swimming pool,motor museum,several pottery’s,handmade shoes and delicatessen perfect for picnic lunches. Greenhill gallery is also close by, selling beautiful crafts, Castle Drogo is close by, with beautiful walks in the Teigh valley and the Anglers rest, perfect for lunch There are some local buses,cycle paths & fantastic walks on Dartmoor. Bike hire is also available from Animal crackers. Parking in Moretonhampstead can be difficult especially in the evenings, some guests find spaces just past my cottage on the right hand side, or by the church behind the property, there is a car park in station road, a short walk from the Old Smithy .
