Alexander's Barn is located within the village of Kirkland with views over Ennerdale Water being just 1 .5 miles from Ennerdale Bridge, a short drive from some beautiful Lakes and only 5 miles from Whitehaven and the picturesque harbour. This makes an ideal base for the Western Lakes with great walks right from your doorstep with the C2C cycle route going through the village. The cottage offers a tranquil location with stunning views a real Home away from Home. The cottage is a little gem as it is located not too far from the Coast , just an hours drive from Scotland and 40 minutes from Carlisle. We are 15 milesfrom Keswick and just 30 minutes from Seascale and the Ravenglass Railway (Laal Ratty), also Muncaster Castle .The main railway from Seascale is also worth going on as it runs along the coast from Carlisle down to Barrow. There is plenty of wildlife to be seen around the village from red squirrels to deer and keep a look out for the woodpeckers that come to feed off the peanuts. You have sole use ofthe Cottage, side Garden and Drive.I live next door in Alexander House should you have any queries. The back door to the Barn gives access to my yard where the dustbin and recycle bins are located. Kirkland is a small rural Village on the edge of the Lake District National Park. There are no shops or pubs but they can be found a mile away in Ennerdale. There are stunning views to had and plenty of walks locally. It is sittuated 5 miles form the Coast and on theC2C Cycle route. The Rowrah Go Kart Track is just down the road and was used by Jensen Button andDavid Coulthard when they first started out. The area is unfortunately not good for public transport as we have 2 buses a week both on wednesdays that go to Cockermouth and back. The timetable can be found on the noticeboard by the Phone Box (not operational). It is a very quiet village with Farms all around so be prepared to hear Tractors going past and even a flock of sheep . *PLEASE NOTE* THERE IS AN INDUCTION HOB IN THE KITCHEN WHICH COULD ADVERSELY AFFECT A PACEMAKER.
