EXCLUSIVE STONE COTTAGE AND POOL HOUSE
'Le Gîte' is a little exclusive cottage on our property, located in a friendly village in the Lot region, the south-west of France. It offers every comfort from floor-heating in the bathroom to a private terrace, fenced parking and a private heated pool to chill out. We love pampering our guests, starting off with a chilled glass of champagne upon your arrival and a tasting of the local products. Also a little gourmet welcome box will be ready for your first night. 'Le Gîte' is part of an ancient 400 year old farm. It was used as a storage for corn and wood. In the summer of 2015 it was converted into a guest house with much attention to detail and comfort. The house stays generally fairly cool during summer, but it is also equipped with an efficient air-condition/hot air heating. It consists of a bed sitting-room (approx. 20m2) and a bathroom with Italian walk-in shower (approx. 8m2). The bed is 160cm wide and has 2 comfortable spring coil mattresses. You will also find a satellite TV (ASTRA), WIFI, a Nespresso coffee maker, a kettle, a toaster, a hair dryer as well as a small fridge in your room. Blue tooth connected Bose speakers are installed in your room and on the pool terrace. There is also a CD player with a selection of CDs at your disposal in the "gîte". Further more there is a private terrace as well as pergola overlooking the valley. The pool house is another comfortable space for you to use exclusively, equipped with an open kitchen and an additional shower room and WC, as well as a big flat screen TV (NETFLIX), AC and heating. A washing machine and dryer are as well at your disposal. If you like to do some BBQ, there is also a Webber on the pool terrace (to be used at your own risk). The heated pool is 12 x 6m with a depth of 120 - 180cm. Our guests are welcome to use the heated swimming pool anytime they wish. There is not only your private terrace at "Le gîte" but also our charming pergola terrasse waiting for you to stretch out and enjoy the sunset. You are welcome to help yourself with fresh salads from our vegetable garden as well as fragrant herbs. Meet and greet with a chilled glass of champagne on one of our terraces. We will be present at the property and happy to help you anytime you have questions. (DUE TO COVID WE WILL PREPARE THE DRINKS ONLY FOR YOURSELVES IF DESIRED) Crayssac is a hunter's village, spread out in a valley with a very small centre. The property is located on one of the slopes and has sun until late in the evening as well as a view over the valley. Just 100m behind the house is the ridge of another valley which is all wild countryside without construction. It's really inviting for long walks which lead to the navigable river Lot. Various cruises are offered as well as rental boats for the day. Please note - as the Lot region is a very rural area - there may be sounds from various animals during the day and the night. It is also important to know that there is hardly any public lighting unless on main streets. Therefore a torch is available in your room and it is highly recommended to take it with you anytime you leave as it's REALLY pitch black during the night! However, the darkness provides a perfect opportunity to watch stars and the milky way with a glass of Malbec on your terrace. ;) Presently, there is internet only on our terrace but we are working on an extended service. In Cahors and various villages in the region you will find plenty of wonderful restaurants, historic places and caves to visit. A more detailed list of information is placed in your room. Crayssac is only a 15 minutes drive from the medieval town of Cahors, also famous for its Malbec wines. The region is the perfect area for foodies. There are markets every day in various villages and towns close by where local farmers sell their products from foie gras to dark red Cahors wines, breads, traditional nut cakes and - of course - the most fabulous goat cheese "Le Cabecou". It is essential to have a car in this part of France. There are 2 car rentals in Cahors just opposite the train station. There are also Taxis but they need to be called ahead. Crayssac is about a 1h 1/2 hours drive Northbound from Toulouse. The train between Toulouse and Cahors takes 1h15/1h25 . Sorry, no pets and children under 14 years. There is a friendly dog on site. WIFI available in your room as well as in the pool house and terraces.
