The property is the perfect location for those looking to experience a typically Tuscan ambiance as well as being an ideal base for exploring Tuscany, This typical Tuscan townhouse has been recently and lovingly restored to the highest of standards and offers modern and comfortable living with stylish interiors and modern conveniences. The property is situated over 3 floors. On the ground floor, you will find a fully equipped kitchen ideal for cooking at home and a dining room perfect for family gatherings. The first floor has an airy sitting room with comfortable seating and large flat-screen television, in addition to a double bedroom and bathroom. On the 2nd floor, you will find two bedrooms with en/suite bathrooms and one with a small romantic terrace. There is a charming restaurant just around the corner less than 30 meters away as well as 2 pizzerias, a traditional restaurant, and 3 traditional bars serving breakfast pastries, snacks, cold drinks, tea, coffee, wine, beers, and other alcoholic beverages all within walking distance. The sleepy town of Vicopisano is full of character especially in its Medieval center where Casa di Vico is situated. The house is just a stone’s throw away from Brunelleschi's Medieval Fortress and the 12th Century Praetorian Palace both of which are open to the public at the weekends. Vicopisano is the ideal base for exploring Tuscany being close to Pisa, Lucca and Florence, and many other must-see sites within the region. The immediate area is also perfect for discovering a more authentic traditional Tuscany. Visitors to the area may visit an organic olive farm and see how extra virgin oil is made, there is also a ceramics workshop where an artisan potter still sits at the wheel. In addition, there is the opportunity to take part in cooking lessons and discover the nearby vineyards for wine-tasting. The room has a wide shower, washbasin, WC & bidet. There is a cute little window with views of the marble plaque with the name of the Medieval lane. GROUND FLOOR – COOKING AND DINING SPACE Access through the front door is on the ground floor level where you will walk into a pretty dining room with a round table and seating for 6 people. The fully equipped family kitchen leads from the dining room where you will find more seating and a smaller table. The kitchen is both stylish and contemporary in design and is perfectly equipped for preparing a meal at home. THE LIVING AND LOUNGING SPACE The living room is on the first floor. This room is full of light and stylishly furnished. There is enough comfortable seating for 6 people, satellite TV, a big library and a little antique table where you can sit and write some postcards. CLEANING/TOWELS Final cleaning, all bed linens are towels are included in the rental price. Towels and bed linen are changed on request for stays up to 7 nights and incur a small fee. A change of bed linen and towels is included for stays of 14 nights. HIGHLIGHTS AND EXTRAS WELCOME PACK We provide a Welcome Pack on arrival including a bottle of chilled Prosecco, fresh seasonal fruit, a selection of tea, coffee, fresh milk & sugar. ESSENTIALS FOR YOUR CONVENIENCE For your convenience, we provide a starter pack that includes bathroom hand soap and shower gel, toilet paper, washing machine, dishwasher, detergent & washing-up liquid. PARKING Easy Free and safe parking is available in the village approximately 20 meters from the property. Access to the property is at ground level and like many Medieval townhouses the house is split between 3 levels so is not ideal for those who have difficulty negotiating stairs. Marie and Lorenzo, are the property managers and we live close by in the same village. We always meet our guests on arrival and offer insider knowledge such as the best restaurants, where to hire a bike, the best hikes, and photo spots! We can also introduce you to the local producers and artisans and help organize day trips and tours! For those who love outdoor activities Vicopisano has the perfect terrain for walking, trekking, cycling and mountain biking. There are nearby stables for those who would like to ride. Within 30 minutes you can visit the coast and beaches, thermal spa and golf courses. Parking is just 20 metres from the property and in times gone by this area had been the ancient port of the village nestled on the river Arno.
