Modern and comfortable house in Amsterdam Wetlands

Visit our authentic North-Holland guesthouse on the beautiful road “Overleek” located only 20 minutes from Amsterdam and Volendam! This tranquil guesthouse with it’s unique location gives you the possibility to relax when at “home away from home” and find yourself in the razzle-dazzle of Amsterdam within 20 minutes! From here you can also discover historic towns like Alkmaar, Volendam and Marken. All within a maximum of 30 minutes drive by car or public transport. From the driveway, you can reach the guesthouse via a private entrance. It offers you a sunny terrace with garden set and a barbeque. The terrace gives you a great view on Amsterdam Wetlands, with her cows and small wildlife like birds, but also on the skyline of Amsterdam! Downstairs you will find a fully equipped but kitchen with an induction hob, dishwasher, oven and fridge + freezer. Kitchen equipment is complete and available for you to use. No looking for a can opener or corkscrew when you want to start preparing your meal or open your bottle of wine! The living room is equipped with a large sofa, a dining table, small TV and DVD player. Games and DVD’s are there for you to use. There is a Chromecast available to stream Netflix etc. from your own device. Upstairs you will find the bathroom with the shower, sink and shower. Shampoo, conditioner and shower gel is available free of charge. The open bedroom has a double bed. The second bedroom upstairs is furnished with two single beds. All windows in the bedrooms are equipped with insect screens and sun blocking shades. Furthermore you will be able to rent well maintained bikes for only €2,50 per day. The whole guesthouse will be available for you during your stay. You can use a section of the garden, including the sunny terrace during your stay and park on the driveway in front of the house. You can get to our guesthouse by car in about 20 minutes from Amsterdam Central Station and in about 30 minutes from Amsterdam Schiphol Airport. With public transport it will take you about 15 minutes by (direct) bus from Amsterdam Central station to “Ilpendam”. Busses to and from Amsterdam leave every 10 minutes. From Ilpendam it is a 25 minute walk to the guesthouse. When we are at home when you arrive, we are more then willing to pick you up from the bus station. From Amsterdam Schiphol Airport, you will travel to Ilpendam in about 50 minutes by public transport (train and bus) . By bike it is an 8-minute trip from the bus station to the guesthouse. You can rent bikes for €2,50 a day. Please lock your bike with the locks provided. For stolen or lost bikes, we will have to charge €150,- to replace it. Please let us know in advance if you would like to be picked up from the bus station on arrival when you come by public transport (so we can check if we will be available to pick you up) and if you want to rent a bike during your stay. Our guesthouse is located in, what we think, a completely unique location. Just outside of Amsterdam there is this area called “Wetlands”. From the city of Amsterdam all kind of tourist tours are organised to see this area. You won’t need one of these tours because you will stay in the middle of it! Bike into the Waterland region, famous for its canals, pretty villages, traditional Dutch lifestyle and meadowland with her cows, sheep and birds. From our guesthouse it is only a 5-minute drive by car or a 10-minute trip by bike to the famous “Overleker Theetuin” (Teahouse). Here you can enjoy a delicious high tea, homemade cakes and fresh sandwiches in the beautiful garden. Make your day unforgettable and rent a so called “Whisper boat”, and explore Waterland a little bit more. Boat straight through this unique nature area and admire the historic villages like “Broek in Waterland” and “Monnickendam” with their famous 17th century wooden houses. Having a car is highly recommended to have the best experience of the guesthouse.
