The Main Street Burrow is a pet friendly cosy apartment situated in St. Boswells, a picturesque village located in the heart of the Scottish Borders. The Burrow can sleep up to 4 people comfortably, with a double bedroom and a fold-out sofa bed in the open plan lounge / kitchen. It also has a large bathroom with wash basin and walk in shower, plus toilet. Whether you've come for some rest and recuperation or to have an action-packed adventure, the Main Street Burrow is the perfect hideaway. A self check in system is in place on arrival and similarly on departure, meaning no contact with any individual is required during your stay. St. Boswells itself is a picture-postcard village centred round a large, tree-lined village green and boasts numerous award-winning shops, including The Main Street Trading Company. Voted Britain’s Best Small Shop in 2018, the Main Street Trading Company has a beautiful bookshop, café and award-winning deli which is just two doors up from The Burrow. Other shops in the village include an award-winning butchers, a small convenience store and Post Office, and the renowned Borders Gunroom for essential country supplies. Local eateries within the village include The Buccleuch Arms pub and bistro, Hunters Stables and Maano’s Fish Bar. Whilst having the perfect country walks right on your doorstep, you could also take advantage of the flood-lit tennis courts or 9 hole golf course, both of which are a 10 minute walk away. Whether you're fishing on the River Tweed, walking the St. Cuthbert's Way, cycling at Glentress, visiting historical castles and abbeys, or a multitude of other activities, these can all be reached with ease from The Main Street Burrow. St Boswells was listed in the top ten best places to live in Scotland 2019 by The Sunday Times, due to the abundance of activities in the area, award-winning shops and excellent community spirit that make this village so special. We look forward to welcoming you to The Main Street Burrow so you too can enjoy everything St Boswells and the Scottish Borders has to offer. Tweedbank Station: The Borders Railway recently reopened in 2015 and trains run regurlarly from Edinburgh Waverley to the terminus at Tweedbank which is the closest train station to The Main Street Burrow (6.5 miles away). The 67 bus does run from the road just outside the train station to St. Boswells bus stance but isn't a regular service and journey times can vary depending on the bus route. We would recommend getting a taxi from Tweedbank station to The Main Street Burrow which is 6.5 miles away. By Bus: St. Boswells is well connected by bus and we recommend downloading the Borders Buses app to your phone to explore times and routes. The main bus stance in the village is a 2 minute walk away from the apartment and The Borders Buses routes that operate from here are: 51, 52 - runs from Jedburgh to St Boswells (via Kelso), then to Edinburgh up the A68. 67 - runs from Berwick to St. Boswells (via Kelso) and then onto Galashiels. 68 - runs from Jedburgh to St. Boswells and then onto Galashiels.
