Recently refurbished, one (1) bedroom top floor flat with separate living room and kitchen. Stunning sea views from the living room and bedroom. Shower room. Only 100m walk to harbour pubs and beach walkway. Pets allowed. Available by phone, text and e-mail before and during your stay. This grade listed; four-storey sandstone building was built in 1712 as a private dwelling. However, from 1746, the building was used as a place of worship by the Episcopalian congregation of the town. In the years after the Jacobite uprising it was illegal for Episcopalians to meet in larger numbers than five. The Reverend Alexander Greig conducted services in rooms in this building from 1746. It was later the home of Peter Christian, Sherriff-Clerk of Kincardineshire. Today the building is divided into private flats. On the harbour front there are three (3) restaurants; the Tollbooth, the Ship and the Marine. All are extremely popular during the summer months; therefore, booking is strongly advised. Famous food establishments are within a 15-minute walk; the Bay Fish & Chip shop and Aunty Bettys Ice Cream parlour. The High Street is minutes’ walk from various locations of interest: - 2-minute walk to the Harbour where paddle boarding and cave tours can be booked; - 5-minute walk to the central square of Stonehaven where farmer markets are frequently held; - 15-minute walk around the coastal custom made ‘boardwalk’ to the outdoor swimming pool; - 20-minute walk from Dunnottar woods with features such as Lady Kennedy’s bath, the Shell Hoosie and Hangman’s Hill and; - 30 minutes’ walk (uphill) to Dunnottar castle. Stonehaven is accessible by bus and train. The train station is around a 25-minute walk from the flat whereas the bus station is only around a 5-minute walk. Free on street parking is available.
