Light and spacious cottage in one of South Somerset's loveliest and oldest villages with a community shop, pub, ancient church and small cosy cafe. Surrounded by beautiful countryside and located at the foot of Ham Hill Country Park and nature reserve, it is perfect for walkers. We are also ideally placed for exploring market towns and gardens and National Trust properties in South Somerset and Dorset. The Dorset World Heritage Coast, Lyme Regis and West bay are just a 35 mins drive away. There are two double bedrooms, both with king size double beds and a sofabed in the living room. A travel cot is available if required. The accommodation can cater for up to 5 adults or a family of five. There is a well equipped kitchen with electric hob and oven, microwave and fridge. The living /dining room has a selection of DVDs and books as well as a small hifi system and board games. There is a small area of garden at the front of the house where there is off road parking for 2 cars and an EV charging point. You would need to bring your own Hosts are in the next door property, share the same drive are and usually on hand if needed. The local pub 'The Lord Nelson' is within strolling distance of the cottage. It provides good, reasonably priced food. The village of Chiselborough is a pleasant 20 minute stroll through fields and serves very good food . The Prince of Wales Pub on Ham Hill also offers pub grub, it is a good half hour uphill walk and is one of the few pubs open on a Monday. Worth going to for the wonderful views. Slightly further afield but just a short drive away are the small towns of Crewkerne, South Petherton with supermarkets and restaurants. National Trust properties and gardens in the area include Montecute, Barrington Court, Lytes Cary, Forde Abbey, Stourhead, Tintinhull Gardens, Sherborne Castle and Hestercombe. Norton Sub Hamdon is in a great location for walking and cycling. It is also well placed to visit National Trust properties in Montecute and Barrington Court. Market towns such as Ilminster and Glastonbury are an easy drive away, as are the larger towns of Crewkerne, Yeovil and Wells. There is an hourly bus service between 7am and 7pm to South Petherton and Yeovil. A little further afield, the Jurassic Coast, Stonehenge and Stourhead are easily reached.
