Beachside Guest Room

apartment within a modern security building with lift access is divided into two parts, a private guest room and our small design studio that operates during business hours. The apartment entry and bathroom is shared with us during business hours whilst the shower is reserved for guest use only as we live in another apartment across the hall. As our guest you will have a your own room with a fridge, microwave, kettle, toaster and balcony. The guest room features: - quality double ensemble bed with pillow top mattress - ottoman that can fold out to a bed for an additional guest - laptop friendly work space with free wifi access - dining table/chairs on balcony - tea and coffee making facilities (no kitchen) - bar fridge - microwave - toaster/sandwich press - basic crockery and cutlery - clean bedding, bath and beach towels provided for each guest (laundered once a week) What we have really works well for the right person and quite a few of our guests have returned. Our returning guests range from visiting grandparents/family, pilots, surf comp contestants, FIFO workers and travelers who mainly book weekends or are so busy traveling we never see them.   Walking distance to Maroubra Beach, Cafes, Pub and Restaurants. Buses for the city and airport leave regularly from the beach. As our main residence is across the hall, I (Shane) will be more than happy to make myself available for any questions you may have during your stay. The apartment is only a one minute stroll to the beach and is located in the heart of Maroubra Beach. Maroubra Beach is a quieter beach side suburb of Sydney that has survived the commercialisation of Bondi and Coogee giving it a unique coastal village feel. The beach is primarily a surf beach though is patrolled year round for safe swimming. There is also a ocean pool a short walk away that offers a very unique experience. We have lived here for over 6 years and love it - here are some of the reasons why: - one kilometer of pristine beach with great areas to swim and surf - stunning ocean pool next to the main beach - it is a local hangout without the intense crowds of Bondi and Coogee - a good local pub, a few great cafes and restaurants - direct access to scenic walk to Coogee Beach (approx. 40 minutes) which connects to Clovelly, Bronte, Tamaramma and Bondi Beaches beyond - convenient amenities such as laundromat (from $10 for a bag wash), chemist, newsagent, convenience store, surf shop and beauty therapist close by - there is a small supermarket (approx. 10 minute walk) - surfboard hire at the surf shop located within the apartment building at street level The apartment is located: - 15-20 minute taxi ride from the airport (domestic + international) - 1 minute walk to the beach - 10 km from the city (bus stop 2 minute walk from apartment and bus destinations include: Circular Quay, Central Station, Bondi Junction, Coogee Beach, Randwick, Surry Hills, Darlinghurst) Free street parking available nearby. Secure basement parking may be arranged for an additional cost.
