Mid Century Modern Bungalow
Comfortable spacious private bungalow with lush gardens in a leafy part of Melbourne. Queen sized bed with 100% cotton sheets. Day bed and desk with large windows overlooking the vegetable and herb garden (which guests can use for salads and teas). Access via driveway and carport. Outdoor seating with shade and BBQ access. Outdoor bath accessible in summer. Friendly cats and quiet neighbours. 10 minutes from beach, 30 mins from city centre. Very close to Monash Uni and Caulfield Racecourse. This 1940's house has had a wonderful 60's makeover. This is reflected in the mid century furniture throughout the house and into the Bungalow. The large north facing sunroom is brimming with plants, collections of baskets and shell necklaces and overlooks the back garden and vegetable patch. The main bathroom has a shower, and separate bath and toilet with fabulous pink and silver wallpaper. There is another toilet in the separate laundry. The Bungalow is a large space, very private with wooden blinds and insect nets on windows and door. There are curtains for warmth and privacy. It tends to stay cool in summer and there is an oil heater for colder times. The kitchenette has a kettle, toaster, oven, stove top, fridge, crockery, cutlery, and utensils. Tea-towels, dishcloths, towels are all in the cupboard. There is a guide in the Bungalow on how to use the washing machine and dishwasher. Kitchen, bathrooms, backyard, laundry, sunroom are all open to guests. The lounge, dining room and my bedroom are out of bounds. I do love to meet new people and I do enjoy having guests. I value my privacy and will respect yours. I like to share a drink with my guests and occasional shared meals. Ask me any questions, I am here to help you have a relaxing and enjoyable stay. Close to Caulfield's (if not Melbourne's) best burger bar (The Tuck Shop, 273 Hawthorn Rd, Caulfield North, open Tuesday to Sunday) Cafes include: Einstein's 251 Cafe, 251 Hawthorn Rd, Caulfield North; Glovers Station Cafe, 258 Glen Eira Rd, Elsternwick. And during summer months Sundae School Ice Creamery, 261 Hawthorn Rd, Caulfield North is open for bespoke ice cream goodness. Coles supermarket is a 15 minute walk, and the shops at Balaclava have delis, fruit and vegetable, Woolworths and many many more cafes. I can recommend Batch, 320 Carlisle St, Balaclava and Wall 280, 280 Carlisle St, Balaclava. The nearest bottle shop is Cambridge Cellars, 207A Balaclava Rd, Caulfield North. Two minutes from the tram stop, and the beautiful Caulfield Park. Easy access to the city by tram/train & free unlimited street parking. 10 min drive to St Kilda & Balaclava & the beach. Close to Monash University, Caulfield Campus (12 min bike ride). It is a short walk to Caulfield Library, Town Hall Gallery.
